What should I expect?? Never raced or even been there…
-is it the national track
-mellow jumps or boosters?
-tire choice?
-sketchy area, need to worry about theft?
-turn out good?
Thanks

OTHG usually has the track prepped well with jumps / obstacles reasonably mellowed out but still fun. Us older guys gotta go to work Monday.
Tire selection would be intermediate to intermediate / hard.
The nearest town is Rancho Cordova. Never had any issues, although I wouldn’t tempt fate as far as leaving my bike in the back of my truck at the hotel. Plenty cosmopolitan as far as amenities are concerned.
If you have an RV or plan on camping Prairie City SVRA has campgrounds that overlook the track ( track is actually connected to park system ) not sure if they have full hook ups or not.
Turn out for OTHG events are good. I would recommend making plans in advance and getting there early for sign ups, etc.
I’m going to come Friday and practice And thanks for the other info🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Expect the weather to be warm... mid 90's to 100.
The track will be the national track with a few sections removed / toned down.
The national pit is where you will be camping. There is bathrooms and bleachers, you can observe the entire track from the bleachers.
Same starting gate as the national.
The promoter will toss in some rice hulls or saw dust prior to any big racing event.
The SOTMX group are pretty particular with track prep, based on my experience from SOTMX ride days at this track. The track will be tilled, however not super deep, ruts will form but nothing insanely crazy. The track will be watered with an awesome prep.
Expect practice to be a bit wet along with early motos. The track will come around by M4-6 and later in the day will get a bit baked and harder packed in the main lines.
The jumps are all doubles and w/ triple options and table tops. The Fly 150 step up is in play but very do-able for the average rider. I hit it on my 125 and can grease it, I'm 59.
There is also some either or line in most corners which are fun, and challenges riders.
As for tires, I run Bridgestone X20 front and rear.
The SOTMX is a great group of guys and put on awesome events with 3 LONG moto for the SOTMX Nationals.
There are mc shops in the area if needed, hotels and dining establishments are all close by.
Have fun, be safe and take it all in. The track crew does an excellent job on the track.
Here's some video from the Sierra OTHG National back in April, the track will be about 97% the same.
