Pretty awesome video on how the latest microprocessors are made using EUV Lithography.
In layman’s terms, it’s like shooting 50,000 bullets a second and hitting each bullet with two lasers at two different times. A low powered laser first. And then a high powered laser second.
Truly fascinating.
Quite possibly the most complex machine ever built by man.
Also, it’s one thing to do this in a lab, it’s a whole other animal to make it commercial viable.
These cost about $150,000,000 each. I’ve read where the newest ones will be pushing $300,000,000 each.
Places like Intel, Samsung, TSMC need dozens of these machines at each fab site. Huge huge costs involved.

If the absolute potential of some process is 100 (say...making a product...or moving good from point A to point
That is why it is taking so much technology (human capital and creativity) to advance...say from 88 to 89 (faster processors..etc)
But it does not change the fact that the maximum potential of the process is 100.
