Thanks for giving those 250effs the extra power to beat Star Yamaha to the holeshot.

/runs................................

Edit: surprised this isn't talked about more. Regardless of increase skill from Honda riders maybe focussing on starts etc vs new engine the starts in the 250 class have not been so one sided this year.

Does the AMA still check bore and stroke? Just kidding, nobody would cheat like that.

And jett had the bad start at redbud coz he was 37th gate pick or something. Both jett and hunters average start combined is pretty much the same as shimoda and j-coop. And better then every1 else

For sure, I was gonna say we've seen our share of Kawis at the sharp end between Jo and Hammaker, much more even playing field it seems 👍

Gotta give HRC credit, after seeing 4 blue bikes at the front every start for last few years they stepped up.

Not sure how the stock bikes compare?

lol funny how the big blue pig has become the "bar" everyone is shooting for.

Always seemed to me that the blue pig comments were directed at the 450. The Yamaha 250 has been the bike of the class for a couple years IMO

Oh it has, I'm just being a smart a$$.

The 450 is and was a fine bike. its just now there's finally some elite riders on the bike willing to help develop the bike.
Elite meaning riders willing to do what it takes to win, testing and etc... Not a rider just hoping on a bike and expecting it will win for them.
and I'm sure we can go thru history and find other bikes with similar deal. If you don't believe me just watch the WTS with Yogi on it.

Seems like Star has definitely helped rid the 450 of that stigma as well which is great to see. Rode a friends 18 back then, thought it was a great bike bone stock, rode his 20 when he got it and had the same thoughts, so I always wondered where those comments came from. I’m only like 135 lbs so the blue pig should’ve felt horrible to me.

Rode my friend's 18 as well and loved it.

Those HRC Hondas seems to have edge over others now. Used to be all blue first corner for years.

For what it's worth and how accurate it may or may not be, I understood that part of that knickname came from the bikes width through the seat and tank area. As I recall, a couple of the pro's had mentioned that it felt "wide". Although everyone agreed that you get used to it right away.

Noah Viney had a kick ass start at Pala Moto 2 (Twisted Development). He didnt have a great gate pick too.

XPR is building monster engines for it - See MCR's Supercross bikes.

The new CRF 250R is bitchen!!!

Star Yam run a great bike for sure, but there’s a lot more to it than a high horse power motor.
