Where in the world is Anderson getting that McGrath speed?

Eli has looked a bit tentative in the whoops to me at times. It looks like he is going to make an Eli style charge, then the bobble in the whoops bring him back to reality.

In the third race last week, when he got in the lead you could see him really start to push. Outside lines, scrubbing hard, etc. I figured he was gone....then to my surprise Anderson reeled him right in. I don't thunk Eli looks much different than he did on green, which is good. We have yet to see Eli destroy everyone on the blue bike yet.
um...he literally passed Anderson in the whoops.

Jason's success this season can be attributed, much like you Manny to a new attitude.

"Speed". Speed was the focus of the discussion, not anything else, skill, success or anything else.

Surely we can all agree that the speed MC went, was surpassed many years ago. It's universally accepted that Ricky 'changed' the sport, in terms of fitness, drive & desire. Then of course machinery & suspension, things have only escalated from there.

Thats not to say that MC isn't able to contribute today- another set of eyes & outlook from such a skilled rider and for sure he will have something to give.

Will JA retire with the same number of successes as MC? No. Does JA face a field of much closer competition to his own skills and speed than MC? yes.

It's funny, people in here have NO IDEA how much stoke you share for this sport & how much you know and love "racing". Rodney Smith even name-dropped your crazy ass on Whiskey Throttle while talking about the fast guys from back in the day.

I got cleaned out by Rodney Smith at Club Moto in a turn one day and it was awesome! He even came over to my truck and apologized to my b class loser ass wearing SMP gear. I think his wife made him though, because she was was in love with my puppy and was watched him all day.

Haha, what a joke, he looked good on the Kawi this year but McGrath speed, that's clueless.

He's been racing Eli since the minis and they both switched brands. Both were looking to impress and it brought out the best in both of them. Eli rode smart in the later races and didn't always push it when he didn't have to in order to bring home the championship.

Anderson and Stewart both looked like they were on 125s flicking that bike around the last few races though.

I'm most impressed that ET3 and JA21 went did a 180 late in their careers and completely blew everyone else away. That almost never happens for one rider and here we see 2 guys doing it.

I find there is a big difference in 'feel' between riding a Japanese motorcycle vs a KTM/Kusqvarna/GasGas, and I'm more comfortable on a Japanese bike. Jason has been on the Euro bikes so long perhaps he feels better on the Kawi? Fresh start, new motivation? Either way, it's pretty to cool to see him flourish at this point in his career.
As a euro dirt and street bike rider I agree with this.
