Nj tracks make the waits between motos so insanely long. And you’re out there for 10-12 minutes.
The nice thing about FOD is they have the vet track and the woods as well. So if your moto is over on one track, usually you can roll onto the other or hit the woods loop.

Since etown moved the track across the street its one track all or nothing. And lets be honest, its basically been the same layout for years.

I think they need to divide the day into half. Big bikes half the day and little bikes the other half. And rotate who gets the first half of the day.

Then you’d have to split it up into 3 classes tops.

4 - 20 minute motos in 4 hours as opposed to 8 - 10 minute motos in 8 hours.

And that’s only if you needed to still break the big bikes into 3 classes. Sometimes would be only 2 classes so could be a 30 minute Moto every hour.

Hey guys!
This thread definitely strikes a chord with me too!
The wife and I are tentatively/potentially planning to travel out to northeastern Maryland for an extended summer stay with our son & his wife’s family and I was wondering about MX tracks in that region as well!

We’ll be staying with them in Port Deposit Md and I was planning to take the MX bike & a dual sport hoping to do some fun riding while there!
I know that’s in close proximity to Delaware, New Jersey & Pennsylvania and was hoping there was some good moto to be enjoyed!
And for what its worth, planning to bring the XC mountainbike and hoping there is some good singletrack cross country MTB riding within close proximity too?!

I’m looking forward to riding some new tracks and seeing some of the incredible historic sites in that part of the country!
There isn’t much history here in the land of the redneck (Oklahoma, my home state and where I’ve lived every day of my 56 years!) thats much older than the mid-late 1800/early 1900’s so I’m looking forward to seeing some of the colonial, pre-civil & civil war era history in that part of our country!
Vital insight is always good and always appreciated!
Wissahikon is pretty famous for MTB. I live walking distance from it. Def not what most people think of when they think of Philly ha.
I agree! I lived in Manayunk for a while back in the late 90's. We started riding Wissahickon a lot and those trails are pretty epic for a technically inner city mountain bike trail system.

I didn't read the entire thread but as far as tracks near Jersey I'd also recommend to the OP: Sleepy Hollow, Hurricane Hills, Pagoda Mx club, Doublin Gap and Evansville are decent tracks inside of 3 hrs from the dirty Jerse. I miss all the Mid Atlantic tracks for sure having lived out West for the last 22 years straight. I'm still dying to ride Millville Field of Dreams. We spent so many winters riding the pits of Port Elizabeth. I had some great times. Do you know what ever happened to the pit on Route 9 just South of Manahawkin (72) on the West side of 9. I destroyed my wrist there in '92. There was this pretty big blind double through the trees. I went for it on my 125 and completely cased it and ate shit. LOL The whoop tracks there were awesome too!!!

To be fair, you run about a 50/50 chance of getting shot at with Jersey plates at many of those.... Whistling
I commented the same LOL. Now going back to read the thread.

What really gets me is shutting down the National track at FOD on Wednesdays for like 5 little bikes. I wish weekdays were big bikes only.

They’ve told me it’s a law in NJ they have the break up the practices.

Basically all of the tracks you mentioned are barely open.

Yeah, odd that so many PA tracks don’t have regular practice days
