Tore it down without even riding it once. Then I started adding stuff to it that wasn’t made for it. 2018 kx450f sff forks -rebuilt with skf seals and glide kit, rear shock, 2015 CRF450 clamps, bearing/race kit to match neck on frame, 2018 kx450f front caliper, over sized (270mm?) galfer front rotor.

Started buying way to many parts and boxes just started piling up. Then cleaned everything and started to slap stuff together. (Thanks Cam N for the YouTube radiator fix/straighten).

I started this almost a year ago and didn’t document-take pictures along the way of everything I did and still have yet to ride the bike. I don’t know if I want to go out and hammer on it or keep going with trying to make it look good/order more + new parts. The rims and tires are ugly, the silencer is gigantic, the air box is scratched up pretty good, the rear number plates don’t match the rear fender (restyle kit rear fender). I’m thinking I’ll try and ride it and see what happens then decide what will come next. Has factory carb, rad valve, fatty raw pipe, Q stealth silencer on it now. I have vforce and stock reeds, lectron carb, pc and stock pipes, fmf and stock silencer, plus all the stock suspension. I don’t want to put it all back to stock because that seems like a lot of work but if it rides like turd then maybe stock rebuild or the best I can do with parts still available. The guys doing the stock, hrc and factory race bike builds are fnNuts! But man some people on here are doing incredible work!! Hat’s off to all you guys at home doing this stuff much respect!

Everything other than that frame looks great. Take the frame back to the sand blaster and fix it.

11 glass bead. I’m in the process of building a vapor honing machine (long story, even longer time to build one). Ha! Me too.. I sold my almost stock 06 RM250 to a guy 10hrs away! Thanks man.

Lol I get it... it was gold at one time (never got assembled) then red because I thought it would be different. Thanks for the input!

Thanks man! I was in the spot of “should I just put it all together with what I have or order more?” I definitely don’t want to take it back apart but I kind of wish I waited and found everything I wanted. You’re smart for taking your time, you won’t regret that.

I'm trying lol but its hard... I actually traded my 04 cr125 bored out to a 139 for my 250 now which happened to be my old 250 from 7 years ago that I sold my buddy. And he gave it to me in pieces but a new motor, which turns out to be new except when you try to kick it over the kick starter does turn the crank over so it's getting tore back down.

I get nervous tearing down an engine that you don’t know what has been done to it. At least parts are still available for now but it can get expensive quick! I debated sending my complete engine to a builder so I would at least know it was done well but that can get expensive and turn around time was up in the air. I found that a lot of guys out there were focused on 4 strokes and they were backed up with that work. I got a factory service manual just for that kind of work. I want to get a cr125 next! Haven’t rode one since 97 (the new husky 125 looks pretty sweet too).

Yeah the bad part is my buddy and his buddy went to school to work on bikes and it still got screwed up so it's going to someone I know and done my bikes since I was a kid. And yes the husky 125s are badass for sure, and if I can give you any advice dont get a cr125, i rode mine stock blew it up then had it bored out to 139 with pipe/silencer vforce, carb work and couldn't tell any difference still felt slow.

Wow. Your 06 was in much better shape. Older guy bought it and he plans to keep it forever for trail rides. Glad it went to a good home. Wink haha

I bought mine from an old guy. I got all the paperwork with it too. It wasn’t even PDI-ed until 2011. Yours looks like all stock plastics and seat! That really was a great bike. I debated on doing the AF to mine but it looked like a lot of work and would probably be worth less when finished. I do miss the last of the RMs I bet we’d have a hard time finding others that are all stock in good condition. Thanks for the pic, makes me want one again.

Other cr250 owners say the rad valve is best on the 250. Keep the stock pipe Honda pipes r pretty good. Use the hrc method for adjusting the pv. I used a socket with tape to keep it in the exhaust port. I adjusted my 04 125 this way it works great. I adjusted it with light or loose cable trying to get it snapping open quicker. The bike will run different. Never adjust too tight it can take the servo motor out.

Check out red Bud vet fest 2st hits Laroccos leap, yt vid. He hits it from the inside on the 1st lap. He hole shot a Ktm got by him. He passes on the inside rough off camber to get the lead back then hit the leap from the inside. His bike sounds stock. 3 engine builders can make big increases on the 02-07 cr250. IMO the cr250 still has the best chassis.

I still rate it the best chassis ever ridden out of any modern bike.

Mitch said on pulp mx about roczens straight rythm cr that done correctly the cr motor is as good as any others

Hey guys sorry all my email alerts about PM’s were going to the junk inbox. Sorry not selling any old parts yet but I’ll let the 3 people who pm’d me know first and then post them here when I do. Thanks for the offers and sorry for the slow reply!
