Gear bag has to be packed in the exact same way (and order) every time...

I always throw any new gear on the ground before putting it on. It releases the magnetism.

Left side for everything when getting gearing up - EXCEPT my gloves. Right first then left. Then I have a small discussion with my bike, such as how much I appreciate it being together.

We always say 2 minus 1

Wether it’s in my head on the track and I want to do another lap, or if I’m putting on gear heading out for my last moto.

It’s the only superstition I genuinely believe in. Never say just 1 more

1) right side first on each piece of gear.

2) like the others, no “last ride”…this extends to the last ride on a bike before getting a new one. My 96 CR sat in my garage for 12 weeks brand-new when I made this mistake with my 94…

3) on a carb’ed bike, check the petcock a ridiculous amount of times on the gate…(took me awhile to break this one with FI, lol).

4) Never ride on my birthday.

5) for work, never say “it’s sure been quiet today”…

Specifically off-road superstition: Don’t unloaded the bike until you’ve signed up and put your gear on.
