I've been thinking about oklahoma and the fox fifty since I read about the article on racerx. Who do yiunthink should be on. The list... I'd love to see myself on it but I'm afraid it will fill up too fast.

Here are my picks:
1. Robbie Reynard
2. Guy Cooper
3. Trey Canard
4. Johnny Marley
5. Cliff Palmer
6. Chase Reed
9. Jake Martin
10. Hell I gotta throw myself on there jar for fun! The good ol #145 of J.W. Patton (crowd goes wild)

I purposely left off people like flyin Hawaiian and Kenny bartram
I met up with Chris Smith " Smitty" at the Dallas SX. Great guy and rider. He lives in Bentonville Ark. Now. Also, Mike Abel, Scott South, David Eubanks....500 title at LL. Trey Owens

hehe, for 1 year, Travis Pastrana was an okie! no joke! he lived here with robbie and rode 59th every tuesday night. He actually beat robbie there 1 time and the very next saturday led his first 250sx main! true story!

the list should be....

RR
Ice Trey
Cooper
Palmer
Marley
Jake
Chase (him and marley had WARS when they were 14 and 15)
Chad Cook
Homer Woolslayer
Chris Smith
Brett Shoemake (or shoemate?)
Eubanks
kenny bartram
Colt Humpries (cant remember if he was okie for sure... know his mom was smokin!)
Trey Owens
Whispern Smith (you HAVE to put the worlds fastest fireman on any fast okie list!)

then honorable mention for a ton of others... too many to list. But the above actually went pro or held a pro license and did something beyond a local level. I know I am forgetting someone....

Yeah, Bayles was fast! He was also the first one at my side when I tore my rotator cuff in '98. (he was flagging)

I think Cooper has to be at the top of list because he won a title and the most races out of everyone on the list.

I remember him racing at Interstate on a 500 no jersey or shirt. Just a front chest protector with "Tarzan" on his leathers.

Man I loved that track.

The place was a shithole, but the track was great.

Does the name Chase Davenport ring a bell to any of you guys??? Just wondering... He was on 50's and 60's when I left the scene in the mid 90's.

Clay Hoenshell earned national number 38 one year. That's got to put him in the top five with Cooper, Canard, Renard and Palmer.

Rick Kirk from the Tulsa area. He was a badass. I think he even did some pro level road racing.

Gerald Tims and Bobby Fannon.

Curtis "Holeshot" McKay.

It was great for a few years, then the dirt packed down or something and it just didn't get as rough as the first few years.

Way to dig a 12 year old thread out of the Oklahoma shoebox.
