Yeah but he could have had a jack screw failure.

It's happened before. Remember that flight that was too close to the guy in front, and they decided that the jet wash was too much for the vertical stabilizer?
It broke the screw that operates the vertical stab.

It happened in the northeast somewhere.
I think you’re referring to American 587. Crashed in Queens NY because of 747 wake turbulence. However that was due to pilot rudder inputs which caused the entire vertical stabilizer section to break off.

That trim jackscrew incident was Alaska 261 which was over California. Threads separated from the jackscrew and the whole thing was jammed forcing full nose down pitch. Kinda sorta the inspiration for the plane crash in the movie “Flight”.

I happen to be friends with a guy who's parents were on that flight (Alaska 261). He's a moto guy, part of Legends and Heroes you see at the SX races.

Every year all the families go to the memorial on the date it happened and scrub it clean.

I was gonna call you a liar cause we know you have no friends but this is just too serious. I hope those folks find some peace and shared condolence. (You know I'm just joshin' ya Bud).

You are correct, sir. Thank you.

For me it's amazing that I can remember what I had for lunch.

Vital logic shows that without politicians, planes never drop out of the sky, cars dont crash, people dont get sick, blah blah blah.
If a tree falls in a forest, the government overlords were probably holding an axe

Everything is a conspiracy these days

Stay tuned fellas... there's more to this story. Not saying I know anything but that is not how planes usually crash.
True. My return flight to the east coast was flight 427 in 1994. It crashed the same way just outside of Pittsburgh. My x was calling the survey trl making a fus that I had to come home because she was standing up for a wedding. Superintendent said I need you to run the 2nd shift on the hhg rig. I had a weird feeling of going home. Long story short I didn’t. Job coordinator booked flight for everyone. He said good thing you didn’t go home your flight 427 crashed. I just said oh yeah and never thought about it. I checked it out 3 yrs ago, the pilots
Had no control . There last words where pretty intense.
