First time to a speedway SX. Which seats are better- 100 level or 200? Also , since the race is actually in Hampton, not Atlanta, any advice for post race fun? We like Airbnb, so we may search one out in that area. Any other advice is welcomed. (Well, this is vital, so I figger there will be some ridiculous and useless advice thrown in, but welcomed nonetheless.)

No advice, I’m going for the first time. I went with the 200’s. Thinking was being up a little higher might be better.

The track is about an hour south of the city. There are a lot of restaurants and bars within 15-20 minutes of the track in McDonough. It’s a pretty nice almost rural area

Be ready for it to be hot, it had been in the 60's for most of the time leading up to last year and it was 86 degrees the day of the race.

That would be fine with me. I've had winter up to here. That's one of the main reasons we picked Atlanta- the other options were Indy, St. Louis and Foxboro, none of which hold much hope for warm weather.

Steer clear of College Park.

plenty of camping and parking. Hotels in Griffin, Locust Grove, McDonough, Lovejoy.

Summit warehouse in McDonough, track is in Hampton on a rural area. Watch your speed on Hwy 19 Henry County runs radar like crazy.

Drive is 20 mins but Peactress City is a planned city and nice. Air BnB likely

Seats are best at the top of the 100s or bottom of 200s. If you go to high up on top section the overhang from press boxes and pilings can get in your sight lines.

Lock your doors and don't bring anything you don't mind having stolen.

Atlanta was great last year. You park in front of Atlanta Motor Speedway…plenty of parking. You enter in main gates. Once you are in the stands, they have a gate open to go from the stands onto the AMS track. You walk on the road track to the end of the SX track to get in the pits. You can watch practice from anyplace and it nice to be able to be in the pits but still hear practice going on. We sat in 100 and 200’s and both were good. In the 200’s, the support beams for the roof are relatively small, so they didn’t block much track. It rained one time so being under the overhang in the 200 was good. It also provides shade if it’s hot.

As for the area..it’s pretty typical suburbs. I hope they never go back downtown!

Well I actually live in Hampton so I’m pretty sure that I can help you out with this! There isn’t much to do in Hampton I would stay in McDonough. It’s 15 minutes away from AMS, there is a Dave and Busters, two different trampoline parks, a movie theatre, several other fun activities and pretty much every restaurant that you can think of.

I ended up going with Section 236 Row 30 seats 13 and 14. Planning on rocking my Vital Mx t-shirt if I can find it.
