Chain Guides

Just swapped from a PC chain guide to Acerbis. This thing sounds like playing cards clipped to the rear tire of my Haro back in the day. Are they supposed to be this loud? Not running oversize chain and I just geared down on my rear sprocket from a 50 to a 49. No recent crashes and the spacing on both sides of the chain is good. WTF

TM Designs on my KX450 and BRP on my KX500. No sound issues with either and I’m running narrow X-Ring chains on both bikes.

Previous buying the TM Designs chain guide for my KX450, I was thinking of running a PC chain guide. What made you swap yours for an Acerbis guide?

When I first installed my Acerbis I literally pulled over thinking something was wrong. The hard plastic is definitely way louder then stock and noticable at first. I use them because I can get them at a discount and the replacable guide is quick and easy. Definitely took a bit to get used to the extra noises, but you're definitely not alone.

I have the Acerbis one and I think it made some noise at first but then it wore in and stopped. I've had it on the bike for 80ish hours though and its still in great shape.

TM Designs for me too...Yamaha chain guides break off if you breath on them, so its an automatic change on every yamaha I buy...They haven't failed me yet...(Knock on wood)

TM for me. They are loud, but bulletproof. Wear earplugs when you ride if it bugs you.

The changeable rub plate is ridiculously expensive. Cheaper to go with a new guide all together. Didn’t do my homework when i originally bought my PC guide.

I had the Acerbis on my last kx450 and hated it . That thing was so wide made it a bitch to get the wheel off and on . When the stocker wears out I'll go TM

I've run TM design chain guides for years, if you put a paddle tire on and ride across a parking lot it sounds like something is breaking off the back end of your bike. They are definitely louder than stock, but last forever so it's worth it.

My acerbis were very loud on both of my bikes. Wanting to get a Light Speed carbon guide. What do they have for the inside slider? Anybody know?
