The 1982 RM250 was fast for it's day,,,so fast I remember reading a 250 shootout test issue a few years later and they had a sidebar explaining a stock 82 showed up while they where testing,,and that bike beat the current models they where testing in drag race.
What exact issue was that???????

30 years later I found a clean one to buy/ race.Yes it's a 83 with slightly heavier crank and 43 forks. I know for a fact this thing flies. It has the 82 head(key to the 82 power), stock cylinder(same as 82),DG exhaust. I ran open class for 1 1/2 seasons in B and then A class post vintage,, and I got more than my share of holeshots vs 465s,490s,400s. That engine I start in 2nd,,,shift quickly to 3rd and let it eat.
Boy Suzuki made a engine with that one.
I spent hours pouring over issues and google trying to find where that was.
I kept think it was in 250 shootout issue or the modified 250 test issues.
