Saw Matthes tweeted saying Derek Rankin was out at RMATV KTM as the crew chief. Another issue with team not paying?

Can’t assume that the team isn’t paying bc of the teams past. I don’t recall the staff ever not getting paid? Or am I wrong? Wouldn’t seem like a bright move to go back to the team if he never was payed. Also it’s a new owner. New staff. A lot has changed. Hell. Maybe he was fired? Maybe he had personal issues? Maybe he found Jesus? Who knows?

For anyone who doesn't want to listed to the swap pod, to sum it up Anstie needed a motor, Derek decided to take a motor out of Ethan Lane's bike for the time being since it is so close to A1. Ethans' dad (co owner of rmatmc team also owner of the 83 compound) from what I can gather blew up on him and treated him like a dog.

Guy sounds like a real class act, goes to show how phsyco some of these mini dads can be and the lengths they will go to and the money they will spend to shoehorn their kid into a pro ride. I would assume in the dad's eyes all this money is being spent for his kid and Derek unintentionally crossed a line interfering with his kids racing effort.

The whole ordeal sounds ridiculous, goes to show money can buy a lot of things and respect isn't one of them. Props to Derek for standing up. I would say 100% of the people on this forum would have made the same call in his shoes. Sounds like the dad forgot what the real purpose of the race team is, and it isn't 20th-10th place amatuer A rider that's for sure. Especially when the kid doesn't have any major races for months I assume.

As I understand it the new investor in the team got pissed at Derek for using the engine out of his son’s bike to keep Antsie on the practice track to prepare for A-1 and went after Derek and verbally abused him so Derek walked away and quit…so the son is more important than the team…a team that doesn’t have any back-up motors or bikes at their training facility…any bets that this is the beginning to the end of RMATV KTM…

A lot of teams and sponsors didn’t pay in 2020…the main difference is the publicity that came with BB suing RMATV KTM while others did it quietly…

I thought lane is riding 250f & Anstie is 450 so I doubt Anstie was using a 250f for practice. Id say there is a bit more too it.
But having your kids engine blow up after it was swapped out for someone else to use. This sport is dangerous & im sure if Lane nearly got wrecked his dad would have a right to get pissed & go ask questions. Mayb in the heat of the moment he got carried away. Who knows 🤷🏼‍♂️
