Hello and good day. Sorry to jump into the convo here but I couldn't resist lol. I'm also from SoCal but currently living in East Valley (Maricopa County) however my wife and I may be moving to SV for my work. Are you guys still doing the club for Nomad's (figured I'd ask with the covid stuff going on)

DB, I'll answer both posts.

PMP-Tucson: Still no movement. Track sits idle. I believe if a serious operator approached the county with a lease proposal that would get things going.

Nomads SV: Yes, we still have the club and the track. Send me a PM and we can talk details.

No change to PMP-Tucson or Nomads-Sierra Vista. Both still same status. We are planning next open public practice day at Nomads around the February timeframe. You can always get a membership to Nomads if you don't care about track prep and just want a cool, isolated place to hang out with the family and bash around whenever you want.

If you are a serious moto rider, the closest reliable track to Tucson is Motoland in Casa Grande. There is good news with Motoland. New owners bought it this past summer and they are very enthusiastic, solid moto peeps. Since buying it, they have been making constant track changes and upgrades and the prep is great. From Tucson, Motoland is a 1 hr drive from the west side and about a 1.5hr drive from the east side. Super easy drive on I-10.

The only two other tracks are ACP in Buckeye and Canyon in Peoria. Both are about another 1.5hrs farther than Motoland.

Motoland has gotten better and he is working on getting his well and said he will be able to make major track changes once that happens.

Everything else has stayed the same for the most part.

It’s a LOT of rocky terrain in the desert. They do a GP round at ACP in early January that is fun. If you enjoy desert, rocky, technical and sketchy terrain you might like the other rounds.
I’ve ridden all the rounds before and I never enjoyed desert riding. I absolutely hate rocks. But…I didn’t grow up riding out west either. I grew up in Michigan where it is sandy/loamy dirt.
Not saying AMRA is bad at all, just not my cup of tea. If you’re a moto guy, check out the Buckeye GP at ACP in early Jan.
