JG is hitting his stride AFTER signing with Gibbs.
Maybe he would have done just as well on big bikes riding for any team but Gibbs took the chance and its paying off.

Boost Mobile/ampm/Monster Energy's Nick Wey showed up at Glen Helen with a fresh JGR motor in his Yamaha YZ450F. After searching for the perfect motor package throughout the Supercross series, NYK plopped down a hefty chunk of change for a motor just like Josh Grant's. Wey was 15th overall at Glen Helen.

L&M doesn't need help on a their bike set up. When they were messed up at the beginning of 2009, I read James said they were just following his comments and it just didn't work out. They went back to their US Open set up and started all over. Oh yes, they won 11 Supercross Main events also this year.

L&M didn't go out and hire the best rider to win the Championship. They hired Chad Reed and at that time RC and Bubba were the best. L&M did win the 2nd year out but not because Reed was the best, they won because Reed raced the whole Supercross series in 2009 and Bubba didn't. Kind of like how Reed's winning the Outdoors this year.

Don't compare, just enjoy a Private team beating the Facory team's. L&M is the only private team to win a Supercross Championship and JGR is a strong Private team able to run in the top 5 in the Championship and they run Outdoors.I don't know if that makes a difference to you. Some care and some don't. To me it's who can win a Championship.
L&M the only private team to Win a Supercross??????????? Hmm you must be new to the sport L&M kiss ass!!!!!! '98 '99 '00 were all won by a private team with a rider named Jeremy Mcgrath.

Hey Ringer why dont you calm down a bit bud....... Lou has been around a lot longer than you think!! Just a mistake on his part, after all Nyk is riding for a team that has a motor guy, he has just chose not to run it and try the new JGR motor program. They build it, it comes with a pipe, motor, carb and help non stop at the races to make sure its good to go.

Actually I rode for the first time since GH on Thursday night at Perris, felt pretty good too and rode an 09 Honda 450. Injuries are still a bit sore but better everyday, Ive dropped some lbs and feeling great so now I just need to get back racing. I still feel like I have some good years ahead of me, so I just need to get things going again in the right direction and make sure its a legit team that supports me no matter if Im hurt or not. Once I have something to update you all with I will do so. Thanks for the concern to you all.

damn.. so from what I am reading between the lines is that your team you were on dropped you when you got hurt?? If so that is some major bull and I hope you get hooked up with your next offer from whoever it may be.. You are a great rider and a fun racer to watch.. You have a lot of people like me in your corner man.

No, I'm not slamming either team. They're both pretty bad-ass in their own way. But I do think JGR MX has some interesting resources that very few (if any) motocross teams here have.
