You have three of your fastest riders from Europe in our B class and yuo decide to beat your chest and crow.

Did you watch the pass Barcia put on Searle yesterday? Your seasoned Euro's seem a little taken back by the agression over here.

Every track I see on the net in Europe looks the same and when they get over here on similar ones they do well. Pourcel surprisingly did very well in SX though. Your guys are fast, but not the fastest. We will see when we send our B team over to Italy in October, minus Stewart, Allessi and Villo.

the reigning 250f World Champion hasnt been able to land on the podium all year. now he's got a broken bone in his hand.....Runner up in the GP's, has only been able to get a 3rd here and there......Yet, Snack pack Ozbourne who never even broke the top 5, let alone top 10 here in the US Nationals wins an overall in the GP's.

yh rattray aint that gd the tracks dnt suit his style over here and searle has got 3 podiums in a row which is better than barcia hes 3rd overall on points and will finish there unless and i hope he cant pass dungey who loves a crash and get second he is on a ktm which is not as fast as the pc or suzuki bikes and he will only get faster as the season goes on so go stick your finger in ur ringer u ballbag and stop bein a dumbass

Big time bike racing hit the US yesterday (MOTO GP) - and pretty much every "Euro" kid aspires to that.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the cream of the U.S. are competeing against those who are not good enough (or too poor) to go road racing. If U.S. riders can't beat the remnants hang your head in shame!!!!!

True Rattray has underperformed so far, I guess he's found the adjustment to a new series and a new bike/team etc more difficult than he'd expected. But Zac Osborne, when fit, is now an awesome rider and capable of great results both sides of the pond. Not saying he's as fast as Dungey or Pourcel quite, but he's a pretty damn fast rider when he can keep it together.

Look at the Americans,

Jake weimer is the oldest American at 22.
The rest of the fast Americans are 19 or younger. 3 of the Amercans that have beat the Euros are rookies.

If those guys werent cherry picking I seriously doubt 3 of those guys even smell the top 5.

This age thing is bullshit. Tommy Searle only just turned 20 last month, Pourcel is still 21 and missed an entire season through injury and Tyla Rattray is 24. These riders have only ever ridden the MX2 class which until just recently was never really classified by age over here. Why would they want to move to the states AND move up to 450's?

I suppose you could say a 28 year old Mike Brown "cherry picked" the British 125 championship in 2000. But we just saw him as a great rider and respected his achievement. I guess at 37 he's still "cherry picking", only this time it was to 7th overall at Glen Helen.

Speed doesnt equat consistentcy, age and experience does. I would put my money for one moto on Barcia over the euros, but a whole series, no.

Firstly, I don't rub anything in about the "Euros' and never would. I may be rooting for Tommy Searle on a personal level but I try to maintain a balanced opinion and have a healthy respect for riders all over the world, especially American. I try to back the GP scene when I need to, but don't get me confused with Mccread! ha Tongue

Of course I understand what you're saying, but I don't think any of the GP riders have come over specifically to 'cherry pick' a Lites title. Ok Rattray may have a couple of years on some of the others, just as Metcalfe does, but Pourcel and Searle have roughly the same amount of pro experience as Dungey, Weimer, Tickle etc.

Searle was due to move to the US in 2008 but decided to stay one more year in GP's to pursue the title and Rattray was supposed to ride the GP MX1 class over this year until the very last moment when Mitch Payton offered him a deal to race the Lites class in America. They were all perfectly aware of how difficult it would be before the season started and I would say that it has gone pretty much as expected so far. So while I can see why some people might jump to conclusions, I don't believe they had any intention of 'cherry picking' at all.

The ironic thing is that Rattray, as you say with all that experience and a World Championship under his belt, should really have the edge, but he seems to be the one struggling. Motocross has too many variables to be able to predict anything properly, which is why its such a great sport.

When you getting near the end you go to Europe.
I am pretty sure any original arguments on this subject were series vs. series......not that americans are always faster than everyone else.
I just like being able to see all the fast guys race over here......good for us.
