Yeah I'm partially guilty of this but my point is that Herlings doesn't have a huge advantage because of the track surface. I'm honestly not sure exactly how much of an advantage he has or if he even has one at all but it's nowhere near the advantage he'd have at Lommel, Lierop, Sardegna etc

I'm not sure how anyone can be fine with letting someone pass like that, it's competition after all. Those kind of things diminish legitimacy of the whole sport.

Jesus Christ why are you so upset about this? The only comments on your account are complaining about this. It's 2 points, I'm not a fan of team tactics and despite me really wanting Herlings to win this title I'd still prefer if it didn't happen, but why do you have it out for Herlings so bad? Would you still be mad about if the 2 points made no difference to the final championship positions?

Yes of course, it's not even about the end result. It sets a terrible precedent. You want riders to ride to best of their ability and this was the pinnacle of uncompetitiveness. FIM should penalize them to prevent those kind of things happening in the future. I mean Cairoli is in his own battle for 4th place, it's not like he is riding for fun. I don't see how this is a controversial take.

Saying that you don't like it when riders pull over for their teammates is far from a controversial take, I'd say about 99.9% of moto fans agree with that. What is a controversial take is saying that it would be embarrassing for Herlings not to win the championship because he gained 2 points when Cairoli let him by.

It’s everyone, it will get brought up in a southwick thread even.

The whole Herlings having advantages on certain surfaces is the most over talked about subject of the GP’s. The last time someone really had an advantage over him on harder pack tracks was Roczen a decade ago. Bulgaria 2018 was one of his best races ever IMO on hard pack. The Herlings non- advantage on certain track conditions is over. Hasn’t existed for nearly 10 years. And this is coming from a total non-fan.

It's not just 2 points, if Coldenhoff and Prado actually defended their position he probably wouldn't get past both of them either. But stopping for 7 seconds is just too much.

If Cairoli is winning next sunday and Herlings is 2nd then he stops in the last lap to give him the win, you think that'd be fine too? Or when is it too much for you? Those kind of things should simply be against the rules imo and they should both get point penalty for such things.

It’s the truth dude.

Come over and visit a GP in Lommel or a Dutch Master. You will talk differently about sand tracks an Herlings his advantage.

Its not that Herlings asked for it. So giving him a points penalty would be unfair imo.

Did we watch the same race? Prado and Coldenhoff clearly tried to hold him off.

looking at the lapcharts, Coldenhoff held Herlings up for zero laps (less than a corner from memory) in the first race, and then less than 1 lap on two separate occasions in race two

You missed the point or perhaps I didn’t explain it well. There is no track where Herlings is at a disadvantage. Sure at Lommel he has a big advantage but at no point anywhere in the series is there a surface where he is at a disadvantage.

Prado moved to alternative slower line each time Herlings got close to him and didn't try to close his lines at all. You can't be serious arguing he tried his best to hold the position. He held Seewer behind who has similar pace as Herlings on this track for multiple laps few days ago, today Herlings passed three times easily. Similar with Coldenhoff, he closed off Gajser last sunday for 2nd position, but didn't offer much resistance to Herlings today.

I probably explained it wrong. He’s not at a disadvantage anywhere and if it’s sandyish at all he’s at an advantage.

Herlings championship to loose now. Two sand races, he raced there a few weeks ago plus a bunch of riders ready to help him in case he needs some points.

Today however...what a mistakes by herlings...could have ended his season...very lucky indeed...

Prado didn't fight off Herlings as hard as Seewer because he didn't fight off anyone as hard for 6th or whatever it was, go back and watch both races, as Prado loses positions he tries less hard the lower the position he's fighting for

How would one stop someone pulling over? What if Tony said he had a stomach cramp and needed to pull over....took 7 seconds for the cramp to go away...shit example but surely you get the drift.

Absolutely no way to control it...its called rider/team tactics...99% sports have it.

What world are you living in? First race Prado tried to keep Herlings behind and did massive overjump on downhill before pits. He hurt his bad back and had to roll around last laps. He sure didnt move away for Herlings.

All drama of MXGP class aside, Renaux really deserved that championship. Not many people know the amount of injuries this guy had to face the first few years of his 250 career
