Van Erp really turned up the pace last month. Seems like a snowball effect. Good for the kid!

Moving up to EMX250 next year I guess?

I really liked the changes they made to the track. Seems like it was better to pass then previous years. Made allot of jumps inside the corners. Van Erp was a master today in making the outsides work, and saw some more guys/girls doing it.

Hopefully it also works out for the MX2 and MXGP class.

It's pretty sad you get downvoted for being realistic. Next thing they'll be saying you're a misogynist.
No one was being "unrealistic".

Read back and you won't see anyone expecting much from her - she's 14, it's her first attempt at trying to even qualify for an EMX125 event (and, I think there was something like 74 entrants, trying for 40 spots on the gate) , after most of us last saw her in Sardinia on an 85.

It's just that a few of us, were not automatically writing her future off. To repeat, she's 14. She may stop participating in the sport at any time, she may also have a go, for a fair few years.

It's all up to her.

Lotte was much closer to qualify than i was waiting after so short of time with 125. She was out just 1.5sec from making into races.

If you are into factory bikes.. just watch Van Erp Factory Yamaha... even mudguard was carbonfibre.

Has anyone ever made the cut at 14 in their first attempt?

Watched her in the ADAC, she flies, and a decent start round there will be all she needs, but you have to have single lap speed to even make the race, which is where most come unstuck.

Of course , if she can get to the point where she can qualify , in EMX250, she can just enter MX2 anyway. . And that would be the way i would go... anyone in EMX whos says ' thats not fair', can do the same, but they choose not to.
With regard to your last comment, Ashton Dickinson gave up EMX250 and went to MX2 exactly for that reason. He struggled with the outright flying lap for qualifying and fancied his chances more in the qualifying races, but they then went to the 1 day format. At least he was automatically entered into the race even if he did have qualify for gate pick.

If I remember correctly Vita Marek is only 13 and he made it through in Germany EMX125 in his first attempt. He is nice, hard working kid with a great family. I expect big things from him also in the future Smile

With the 1 day format, are the qualifying sessions streamed or just the races?

Thanks.

Julian vd auware does the same. He races all/most mx2 gps and is way off pace. He was 30th in qualyfing in spain and 7 seconds of 29th place. I would think he wouldnot qualify in emx250

Malins outdoing himself with his 'reactions' to incidents / crashes. Shocked Blink

I didn't see it, as I was doing some 'scraping' on my Mill, but I heard Malin (so it was bloody loud) reacting to something that happened to Turalgio, in the 2nd 125 Moto. Hope he's OK, whatever happened.

Yeah. You are right. He finished 21st second moto yesterday... But he still lacks a bit of pace in the first few laps... But showed decent consistency so points are not out of the question this year. Wink

It's still crazy considering that there are 13 yo boys lining up next to 17 yo young men in this class. Laughing

13 year Olds? Minimum age for EMX is 14.

Jett Lawrence won a round at a young 14.

I've never been a big fan of the Qualifying races.

What I hope to see, is Luongo The Drongo, and Co, show us All of the qualifying sessions.

It's one of my favourite things with any branch of the sport - MotoGP, WSBK, SX, the US Outdoors, and I've very much enjoyed seeing the MXGP / MX2 qualifying sessions.

I do hope they further develop the Practice and Qualifying sessions coverage.

Geeze De Steuwer, it's her first bloody time having a go at the EMX125 class, as far as I know..

You go to GPs ( as do I, when I can - hopefully, next year , as 2 years without travel to Europe is 2 years too bloody many Sad ), so you Know just how bloody fast those youngsters are on 125s. If she qualifies, that's quite an achievement, as it would be for anyone.

I sure as hell don't think she'll 'storm' the class.

She's going to have a go - and that's a lot more than many ever do. She's 14 - she's got a lot of years to grow in the sport, further, if she chooses to stick with our sport.

Yes ofcourse, qualifying this weekend will/would be an enormous achievement. But if she wants to get to higher classes, qualifying won't be enough anymore soon.

She's got my respect for trying it (getting in MX2 in the future), but I'm afraid all she will get out of it eventually will be a disappointment. One that could've been avoided, because disappointments will come anyway during a career.

There's no shame in trying to get one or multiple WMX worldchampionships. Maybe she should ask Fontanesi (a multiple WMX worldchampion after all) how she felt racing the Valkenswaard MX2 GP in 2017, after qualifying 10 seconds slower than 20th place and getting lapped 2-3 times on Sunday.

Or why Livia Lancelot, Larissa Papenmeier, Mariana Balbi and others chose to make their debut in MX2 at flyaway GP's. That's no coincidence.
It's pretty sad you get downvoted for being realistic. Next thing they'll be saying you're a misogynist.
Bottom line is the boys are stronger than the girls. At that track none of the WMX riders tripled the wall jump, while many of the 125 lads did it long.
I'm a big Lotte fan but unless she gets those tests she is only WMX standard.

I dont know about his family. What i've seen its a simple easy up tent and go to races. Doing a GP in stead of doing an emx250 round will costs him 700 euro extra (difference in entryfee). The guy is to far off the pace, but he is making use of the rules so good for him.

Seeing that every gp there was still room for a wildcard I'm actually surprised why we dont see more emx guys go for wildcards over emx. Do 6 gps in stead of 8 emx rounds for the same budget. Especially saving on the 2 or 3 far away races and save € on fuel and miles abd spend that on wildcards.

Holy sheit! Xmas did come early this year. Woohoo

There is #717 Jan Wagenknech lining up in MX2 (as a replacement for injured Terešák i guess). He ain't gonna set the world on fire as 18 yo but he might brighten up his end of season after being cheated out of proper ding-dong battle for czech mx2 title (3 pts down on Jošt before last Moto) due to his bike being stubborn and causing DNF early in the last moto.
