NAPA Aluminum Brightener work just as well if you can’t find the Mag Wheel Cleaner

Be careful with the stuff though. Wear gloves, try not to breathe it in and don’t get it on anything anodized.

I use Grey scotch brite pads and simple green but I be sure I rinse very good.

If you use an aluminum brightener, don't let it dry on the surface, it will etch it forever.

Scotch brite to clean yes, but Flitz polish to really polish it up. I highly highly recommend it, I just restored a cr125 and polished all the aluminum with it.

Someone put me onto SOS pads years back and I’ve stuck with em ever since. Basically steel wool impregnated with soap of some kind or other. Works like a charm. If you want a real mirror finish, aluminum polish after, I believe I use mother’s
