So the guy about to win the AMA outdoor title isn't racing???

No Febvre?
He reduses to participate due to the GP's coming after MXON. He is focusing on the title.

Ferrandis can't because of Star move to FL.

Febvre is 2nd in MXGP points so he likely said no merci.

Vialle is out of the points with his hand injury so this makes sense. Boisrame has crashed a lot so kinda same scenario. This team makes sense logically.

I think we will see many B level Euro teams because of MXGP title concerns.

No Febvre?
He said no because the risk is too high for him regarding the championship and Ferrandis said no too because of his team moving to Florida at the same date and supercross testing

Still a solid team. Febvre, Ferrandis and Vialle would have been lights out for anybody else

This MXON in the middle of a world championship has turned in to the international version of an NFL Pro bowl or MLB all star game-

Mildly interesting to watch but a totally meaningless exhibition.

So, if the U.S.A. teams wins, better have a large box of asterisks ready to stick on the trophy…

Everyone could see this scenario coming the day they announced the schedule. Maybe it would have been better to postpone it one more year rather than hold an event that will further turn this race into an afterthought.

Keep your asterisks in their box Negative Nancy. USA has raced many, many times with less than ideal teams, too.

Ok, I’ll accept your point because we dont have the official US team roster yet.

If team USA is announced as Dylan Schwartz, Michael Moisiman, and Coty Schock, I’m all in for this.

If our top line millionaire athletes compete against the second tier MXGP talent, they will be absolutely expected to dominate.

In other sports, premier talent versus the lesser is mostly viewed as an curiosity rather than a true test of equals.

I guess we now wait to see if the points leaders will participate….

Right. He’s comparing 2 former MX2 champs to guys who are solid riders but will never be at that level. WTF.

Let me put it another way-
would you rather send a US team of total underdogs with no expectations, or a premier superstar team up against the 5th thru 10th MXGP racers?

Who would have more pressure to win, or more criticism if they lose?

InFront could have made this a GP points paying event and this wouldn’t be an issue.

Good team... Not the best they can field, but Marv and Vialle is serious top talent and Boisrame is no slouch.

Contender for sure.

And F*ck all the people talking asterisks crap. Each country fields the team they can put together...

If France finishes 3rd, should we asterisk them because they didn't have Febvre or Ferrandis??? The idiocy...

The points paying event idea was never going to work.

ROFL... Will be no Cooper, no Tomac, no Plessinger, no Anderson, no Osborne... Etc.

So, no points leader in 250... no dude that has been the best in outdoor MX for the last 4-5 years, the guy that is basically the US mascot, the guy that won the first MXoN moto he ever raced, beating JH84 and last years outdoor champ that does really well when he rides over there.

Get a grip dude...

I recall a team of Dunge, Weimer and Tedesco winning...when we had guys like RV and Stew staying home

I don't think our top guys can run the pace of their 5th place guys on their tracks.

Ferrandis and Febvre would have been willing to go, he'd stay home.

Yeah, clearly a B team, but the kind of B team that lots of countries would like to have.
For different resaons, all three guys have points to make after subpar seasons.

You do realize that we’ve sent our “B” team quite a few times right? Remember Osborne, Seely and Covington in 2017?

We’ve sent “B teams” and won in the past.....To say all the riders competing at the MXdN are sub par is basically shitting on every rider that will be there.... how many world and national champs will there be at the race this year? Idk but I’m willing to bet it’s more than 0

Our team is going to consist of 2nd and 3rd choices also…Your analogy is a little off

Good point. With no Tomac, Cooper, Plessinger, AC or JMart you could almost call it a B team year for USA.

I love that there’s already “ASTERISK” talk when the schedule favors the US team for once. We can’t even send our “dream team” yet people’s lives are already falling apart. Grinning

Also funny how Brent mentions there would only be an asterisk if the US team wins apparently.
