2020yz250f blown up?

Just did a oil change and found this on the magnet of the drain plug
Is it blown? Any guesses on what it is

Btw the bike has 60 hours? I’m guessing a chipped gear in transmission. I took the clutch apart and everything in there looked good

No, its not uncommon to find metal fragments on drain plugs or in strainers. Although with 60 hours its time to consider a top end at least if you haven't already done that Cool

what are we looking at? The little tiny piece???? I personally wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with Moto520. Next oil change check filter again if it’s clean you should be good. If it’s still producing metal might be time for a tear down.

update did a tear down and found out that the exhaust cam journal is scratched up.

That's more than a scratch...also that little piece in the pic looks to be steel.

Looks like it was maybe starved for some oil at some point? You probably can polish that out but be careful. Need to find out what caused that in the first place

i think the motor was starved of oil because i was having major blow by issues and i think it blew so much oil out of the breather that is ended up starving the bike. i ended up ordering a new head, valves ,seals and cam. so my simple piston change turned into a lot bigger issue.
