2021 KTM 250sxf Skid/Glide Plate...

Been looking at all the usual online spots to pick one up, and I purchased one from Motosport that claimed 'exact fit'; it wasn't even close. I returned it, no big deal; but then I started looking for a replacement and the ones that claim 'exact fit' clearly don't from the provided pictures. I can see that the mounting holes are in the center of the plate, not the sides, etc. and I don't want to purchase and wait for another one that won't fit. It's one thing to find the correct one and have it be out of stock, it's another to not find one at all.

Suggestions?

1/4" off in all three mounting points. Double checked the part number, Motosport still says it's the correct one. NOT HAPPY.

I suppose I could mod the thing to make it work, but then we're talking drilling new holes and making little brackets etc.; not really something I want to fuck with on a new bike.

So that’s the exact skid plate I have for my gasgas mc450f. There’s only one mounting point. The bracket with the nutsert that clips onto it.

The rear just slides into place and hugs the frame.

Unless I’m dense and missing something.

I wish it was that one. It's hard to tell in the link I posted, but my bike has the mounting points on the frame rails, left and right; not the single center mount point shown in your pic. There is also a single rear mounting point that bolts up to the bottom frame rail. The front L/R holes were 1/4" off, and 15-20 degrees off angle, the rear mounting point was minimum 1/4" too close to the front of the bike to get a bolt in. Less the mounting points, the thing fit like a glove on the frame rails. I considered keeping it and re-drilling the holes where I need them, and making a little bracket to adjust for the correct angle. Hell, S/S tie wraps would probably hold the thing on there too; it's going to come off after every ride anyway for cleaning, oil changes, etc. Maybe I'll just do that.

My bike has mounts on the rear of the frame for a skid plate, but this skid plate doesn’t use them at all. Just ignores them.

Pretty sure our bikes have the exact same frame and the same mounting tabs.

Third pic shows how far off the front mounting points are. Not only is the location off, the angle is way off; like, couldn't even get it close enough to crossthread it.

My FC350 has these same 3 mounting points and I have this same Acerbis plate. My front 2 holes line up perfect and then I have to apply a slight amount of force on the 3rd bottom hole as it is slightly less than perfect alignment.

Man, that is weird. Mine wasn't gonna happen, and it wasn't from a lack of trying or desire to put the thing on. And I was sober, too.

Ktm powerparts skid plates bolt right up….. but they are 200.00$😂… they hold up well to MX use.

I had a heck of a time installing mine as well.
It's the same bolt pattern and locations like this.

I think what ended up working was lining up the front two, threading them in half way.
Then getting the underside bolt tight all the way.
Then going back to the front two and zipping them up with my mini Hilti impact LOL

My thought was once I rode with it a couple times it would stretch and settle in. I think it eventually did.

That looks like the plate for a 2 stroke. I have a 21sx that uses that plate my 21 sxf has three bolts to mount it.

I'm guessing the one I got before was torqued or something during the molding process. I ordered a replacement (white this time, I kinda like it better actually); and it bolted on in 90 seconds. Same part number stamped on it, so your guess is as good as mine; but there was no way in hell the other one was going to work and this was as easy as it should be.
