Hello from the bottom of the world!
I’ve recently started up a little motorcycle business (RB Bikes check us out on FB ) in New Zealand and thought no better way to showcase my work than by building a 2 stroke conversion!
I’ve built a few bikes in the past (mainly honda’s)
This one is a 2012 CRF250R, 2001 CR250 engine, 38mm pwk, Pro Circuit exhaust, A-kit suspension etc

This one is a bit of a mix n match, 93 frame, made to look 1995 as I think the purple and Fluro is very 90’s

This one is a 2003 , A-kit front and rear, HRC triple clamps, Pro Circuit pipe with carbon/ti muffler
There’s a few more, but you get the idea , I like Honda CR250’s !!
Anyway , I have purchased a 9 hour old 2019 CRF450R , removed the engine and sold it to a go kart guy. This bike has a lot of new take off parts on it( seat, plastics, bars, triple clamps, front wheel, disc etc)
Engine of choice is going to be an 2001 CR250, they good engines , simple and run well! I do like the RC style aswell
So as they sit at the moment is a rolling chassis and an empty engine!

Engine will be off to the vapour blaster tomorrow for the treatment, frame we be getting chopped up early next week!!

I have ordered a “bolt” engine bolt kit which should turn up tomorrow, still have to order new head and cylinder studs
Frame but just doesn’t work.
So will need to cut the frame a lot to raise the “Y”, make some spacers for the swing arm, and hopefully we get the engine sitting correctly!
Stay tuned

I’ve decided to try and see if the bottom cradle out of the 2001 CR250 would be able to fit in place rather than fab up something and not have it look stock , like it was supposed to be from the factory
You can see how much higher the “y” sits, but once we got cutting it sits in place quite well
still need to make some spacers for the swing arm pivot and get the frame welded!
