Not sure if we've helped the OP decide, but hopefully we've fully clouded the decision to be made!

Awesome. Order a spare CCP sensor now. They are back ordered till July. Check your PV dolly position as well, they arrive set all over the map. PV should open at 5500 rpm, 1.5mm from flush on PV casing is closest to standard. Might wanna get the dealer to check current map as well, 103 is newest. I know a lot of guys that seized top ends on the intake side under 50 hours. The new map oil level is much safer.
Thanks for the advice. I’m really hoping it’s here in June like they’re saying.

If I had to guess the market for 2 stroke MX bikes is too small for KTM to spend resources developing fuel injection for it and because it is closed course they don't need to meet Euro 5 emissions in EU so they just keep selling the carb models. It also might be so consumers can buy a carb model if they hate fuel injection or just prefer a carb.

MX and GNCC is dominated by 4 strokes which are all fuel injected so despite the weight penalty fuel injection has been deemed superior in 4 stroke racing.

I don't have any desire to mess with carbs. I would rather ride than mess with jetting, and I prefer the more linear throttle response of fuel injection on 4 and 2 strokes.

Yeah but they already had the xcw engine ready to drop in and they probably figured a kickstart only XC bike wouldn’t be very popular. They don’t make an xc bike without estart, and I don’t think anyone doubts the tpi gets better mileage than the carb bike. They can sell xc bikes for a lot more money than 2 stroke Mx bikes too.

I bought the Husky because my favorite dealer sells Husky and not the others, I like the looks best, and felt the ergonomics were a tiny bit better with the seat lower at the back offering a little more room to move around on the bike. I also ride trials and really like being able to move around. It’s a small difference though.

Ktm is always developing, I’d be surprised if tpi isn’t on the sx in the next few years

Regardless of what you choose, highly recommend putting a TSP power kit on. They remap the bike and put a new head on for $600. Runs a lot better with a little bit more oil. http://www.sbmotoperformance.com/

TSP kit is great, I have one of their medium heads. The new OEM 103 map delivers the same oil as TSP. 44% more than the previous map and the same as the 18/19 maps. The new bikes run Rich fueling and are pretty safe adding around 15% more air flow without a tune.

I've been super impressed with how well the TPI runs, after reading all the horror stories, I was a bit concerned but I'm up to 15 hours so far and bike runs perfect. Have had it out west at elevation and back in the midwest and bike runs so smooth and crisp. I have no idea why people are spending so much money on heads and ECUs.
the one guy with a TSP head and map in our crew, you can hear how crisp and perfect his bike sounds vs us with stock TPIs. If I had a spare grand I’d definitely get a setup

Ktm two stroke heads are so bad it’s appalling. Get it dialed in though and the improvements are really substantial. My main ride is a ‘19 TX, custom RK head cut for my elevation, cylinder spaced up 1mm, 110 octane race gas, and my riding preference, and it is crisp, clean, smooth, and makes just the right kind of power. A bit more of it everywhere and doesn’t sign off so soon.
