Time to install train horns on the bikes. Just another button on the bars.

But he still didn't beat Tomac to the finish..

Two things I noticed:

The AMA needs to stop letting random people flag these events. It needs to be a standard crew who knows exactly what to do. This alleviates the random mishaps as much as possible.

The AMA needs to grow a set and start hitting riders top to bottom where it hurts the most. A fine for Webb/KR/Tomac isn’t going to hurt as much as a privateer. Points would be more effective with a fine against top dogs. Treat it like a professional sport with consequences for not following the rules.

I know I know, the AMA has to be held accountable for being dog shit pushovers. But hey, put the right people in the right spots and make the necessary changes. It’s time to tighten up the ship and put the best foot forward.

Fine Cade for what exactly? For pulling off the track (completely unnecessary) when Sexton couldn't get around him? I put this more on Sexton. He could have went outside then inside and Clason wouldn't have been in the way at all. Instead he forced a couple moves and it cost him time. Race incident.

I would only agree on any sort of "punishment" with the Wilson incident. This isn't anywhere near close as racing in the race line for 3/4 a lap.

I didn’t specify Cade. I’m speaking on the whole situation or lack of organization as the racing body.

Ah, start that off in your first sentence "this doesn't apply to this incident but..." lol
Cause I don't think flaggers or anyone was to blame in this incident.

Agreed, and to be honest I don't think Cade did anything intentional at all - certainly nothing like Wilson did. Sexton just came up on him so fast, it took him by surprise. Hell, once Cade realized what was going on, he B-lined it off the track to get out of the damn way. Like it or not, lappers are part of the race. If a lapper is intentionally trying to hold up a leader that's a different issue.
That’s pretty much where I’m at.

Dude didn’t just move over but left the track entirely. But this is Vital so that’s not even good enough lol

I also didn’t notice any blue flags indicating to him that he was getting lapped.

Clason did nothing wrong. The closing rate was like they went to plaid on him.

Clason did do something wrong, he was in the fucking RACE line, he should have pulled over before that corner. And yes Sexton should have seen that coming though. blames 50-50 for me. I was impressed how Sexton took it, most riders would have had a melt down from that

Chase knew he was the one that made the mistake.

The other people out there are still racing as well. It’s not Donkey Kong where instead of barrels he’s throwing lappers at them.

I think Cade prevented chase from wadding himself trying to hold off Eli on the last lap.

Long time mx follower, back to RJ days.. finally signed up on vital after reading for years..

Am I the only one who finds it more interesting to listen to the numerous pods about SX, rather than watching it? I've got peacock, wait till a day later so I can fast forward through all the BS, especially the "what if you're wrong?" guy! I pretty much just watch the mains.

I was pumped at the end of the 450 main! Excited like I hadn't been since Reed/Stew battles! When Clason got in the way, I knew what was going to happen, it did, and I shut the tv off and went to sleep.

I love moto, the athletes, they are crazy SOB's! But I seem to find more enjoyment listening to JT, E-bike-Matthes, etc. talking about the races, than actually watching the follow the leader action on TV.

And I haven't ridden a dirtbike since 2003 when I mistakenly sold my last one.. Nearing the end of getting divorced and I'm thinking heavily about getting a smoker or an old road bike in the near future. I tell myself cycling is good enough, but the braaaap is a hard itch to ignore at 45 and DGAF..

Do you guys think there’s a possibility he thought it was the last lap? Im trying to be the devils advocate here because I can’t understand how you go inside, not jump that important double etc... If he thought it was the last lap, itwould explain his inside, his non jump of the double before the finish and his non jump on the double after the finish... Maybe I’m digging too much into a simple brain & a very costly inside line...
Exactly what I thought watching it live from the stands. I thought he had a brain fart.

lappers are part of racing MX, always have been, it’s what makes the racing interesting in the latter stages of the race. i don’t understand why some of you feel they should just pull over, it’s beyond me.

He said he thought it was the last lap and the race was over.

This. You are 100% right.

Chase made a mental error...no big deal. Everyone does it...except Webb. Smile

Lapping traffic clean is part of the perfect race craft! As is knowing when pressure will cause mistakes and poor decisions
