A bit of background to the bike.
Bought new early 08. Broke the centre cases about a month later from landing short on a reasonable sized double (reckon there was a stone sticking out) , ran the bike dry and complete chewed up the inside.
Don't have a photo of the cases but was about a 1"x2" hole. Crank ruined, cylinder and head ruined.
Loved the feel of the bike, hated the detonation with the poor head design and lack of grunt. Was running KTM 450's as my race bike at the time, so shelved the Honda in the corner of the shed. Where it just got buried in other stuff.
Fast forward a few years to 2011 and bought a set of cases, every bearing and seal for the engine, new cylinder, new head which I had Mark Eastwood in the UK port/cut for me to his British championship/Grand Prix spec. Built the bike back up and fired it up in 2012. Between 2012 and 2016 I put around 10 hours on the bike (documented on my youtube channel). So all in all I would guess 20 - 25 hours in total.
In 2016 we were moving from Scotland to Australia. So the bike was torn down and put into boxes, suitcases etc to ensure it got through customs (company policy not to ship motorised vehicles - but they never said parts lol). Again, sat in a corner in various boxes, suitcases etc. Glad wrapped and sealed.
Fast forward to 2020 I stared to gather the pieces together again and start to make a bike.
2021 - Now here in OZ it is summer. A big heat wave kicked in a few days ago and total fire bans so no riding. So I thought I would put it back together. Not a garage queen, being built to ride again.
So far, all chassis bearings replaced or cleaned/greased. New brake fluid. Coolant flush/refill, Rear wheel re spoked due to corrosion on the spokes, Original chain/sprockets used from the 2012 rebuild, Forks and Shock serviced/revalved.
37.5 Pilot, stock needle in 2nd position and a 430 main (I know its a little big but there is a ton of sand here in Western Australia)
Cleaned the carb, stuck some fuel in it and she fired up on the 6-8th Kick. First 4 with kill switch pressed to get some lubrication in there.
Ran the bike for about a minute, verified the kill switch worked. checked coolant level. All looking good.
Aim to finish the plastics etc off over the weekend. Hopefully hit the track sometime next week. Waiting on a few parts to complete before I can ride in Anger.

glad it started up more or less straight away. Looking forward to having a play on it next week. Got a few parts on their way to finish it up. Hopefully the old school Castrol graphics I had made 8 years ago are still ok. Slap them on the plastics and will be good to go.
Will record the first outing and post it on youtube. Be interesting to ride the bike again after all these years.

Also a S7 nozzle for the mikuni worked well for me, sub 1000 ft altitude.
Can't recall what's in there at the minute. might already be an S7. I vaguely remember playing with all the jetting a lot, but that was near on 13 years ago now.
Got a few weeks at home starting tomorrow so hopefully, find a few short 3-4 hour spells where I can get stuck in and finish it up. Might even have it on the track before I go back to work (who am I kidding lol).
