Sandtire @daytona?

Why aren't thy running sandtires? The sand sections make the bike look like 65's.

Because most of the track is clay and dirt.

Cairoli used to run sandtires on hardpack, just to get the holeshot and lead the race.
I think they could use the sandtire since dirt and clay are anyway "soft".
But in the sand they are losing like 2/3 secs without the sandtire

Pirelli made something like that but discontinued it for 2020. Which is a bummer, it worked really well and was one of my favorite tyres.

At least some of the 250 guys were running sand tires. They showed it on the broadcast. They were actually saying the sand tire wasn’t as good on the start.
