Among so many YZ 125 bikes and nice builds, I almost was a bit reluctant to show my latest project bike! But always good some extra motivation if possible and encouragement so here it goes...
Bought the YZ 125 2020 model really low on hours. After riding it for some times and coming from a 450 was a bit disappointed on how low the power was! Spent many years riding 125’s but didn't remembered that they were so slow (stock at least).
So all hands on deck to make it better!

Big step down from a 450, I understand that it felt slow 😊. What is the plan for making it rideable?

It felt VERY slow...😂

Regarding the engine the plan is to install a VHM head, Boyesen reed cage, Vortex Ignition, VHM exhaust and to align the cilinder with the bottom of the engine! Hope that will be enough...

Tear down is complete! Now cleaning and let’s start to put it all back together!

As the bike is going to be used more for woods racing, after putting in an 18” wheel, just picked a very good deal on a Trail Tech side stand. Although it is in second hand it’s looking really good

Following this build. We'll be acquiring a YZ125 for my younger brother soon after we finished installing the suspension and atv tires on the current TRX project. It will be his first bike and he wants to make it cool as possible.

Front disc brake assembled! Although it’s not an oversize one, feedback is very very good. As the bike isn’t that fast and to be used on tighter trails, this probably will be more than enough....

Dude, you said your bike was slow then added like 15lbs of bling to it. You’ll need a 144 kit to to get it back to stock power.

Whats up with that front rotor? It looks like two piece bonded together or something, but the holes weren't lined up...

Like many, grew up riding 81yz125. Little rocket ship. As fast as the big bikes , Nope. Restoring 89yz250 it's a rocket

They’re from Kite, and they actually are made of 12 sectors. The braking power is really good!

I also have an 80 YZ 125, simply love it! But I imagine the 89 250 should be something....
