Not sure if it's viable since you have the factory tuner but give a call to Twisted Development. They might be able to do more with your mapping.

What are you running that F&L race gas in? I ran it back in the day in my 92 KX250.

This is better than a build. You are doing common sense upgrades. Good thread.

My local spot stopped carrying VP so I chose an F&L fuel that was closest to C12. I was running it in my 2-strokes (mixed with pump gas). Not sure how/why but my bike felt more crisp when I went from the C12 to this F&L...could have been my imagination or just weather that day?

Ok Seth was meeting my Coach And Josh Hayes if all works ...then hit Pala 🦊 Sunday... I did the yamaha test day at
Fox Sunday a bit crowded! Thought everyone would stay home since it was super bowl...just wanted to compare YZ250 F and the YZ 2strokes....To my RM250 and RMZ 250
The YZ250 F was quite impressive! Definitely a bit more power ! And electric start is nice ! The handling was plush! Didn’t turn like the Suzuki...really stable at speed And instilled confidence!
But New bike will have to wait...
Anyways looking forward to seeing your
Build in action 🤠
Ciao Warren
I saw Hayes at Barona last weekend! Had no idea he was going there, was funny. I wish I could hit up more of the Wednesday rides but am usually working.

Hi Seth Josh was at Cahuilla today...he’s a talented guy! He used to do our Saturday Swamis cycling team ride also Cal Crutchlow GP1 he was riding for Ducati then...he is Fast on the bicycle! And his buddy Mark Cavendish Tour d France 🇫🇷 rider he won more stages than anyone....
It was perfect weather and not crowded!
I’m just getting vet track down the main I’m still trying to clear most of the jumps 🤠🙏
I just started riding Mx last year...at 66yrs!
Anyways hope to see you up there
We are going to pala Saturday...Ciao

Got a few things. Some essentials like air filters & skid plate, some Yoshi axle blocks & clevis and a works Suzuki suspension knuckle. My intent is to ride the bike this weekend and switch out the linkage between sessions but I don't get to ride much these days so I'm not sure I want to waste time AT the track doing that....we'll see.

Works linkage knuckle, little longer than stock

Yoshimura little bits

Figured this thread could use a little video pizzazz with some footage from Seth's first ride on Banana Bike 2.0 at Cahuilla Creek. Was a very fun day until I used my head as a basketball....

*EDIT: added quick video from the day*

Rode the bike at State Fair mx this weekend. Way tighter than a place like Cahuilla and this bike was SUPER fun there. It turned razor sharp on the tighter corners and the low/mid grunt worked awesome without feeling like it needed more top-end like on the faster tracks (still woulda been nice though). I do feel like I noticed the difference in trimmed side panels vs no trimming as well, letting it breathe easier.

Negative: As JWACK mentioned...even though I went over all the spokes and set them to torque after last ride, I had 5-6 on the front wheel that were finger loose after riding. Very surprising as this isn't a fast or super rough track. This is inching me closer to justifying those sexy yellow Excel rims Laughing

BRAAAP wheelie outta the corner

Great video! Hey just got back from Cahuilla Mx track...Great day! Weather perfect! I rode a few laps on the main with Josh but didn’t see him for long! Saw a guy on a 250 RMZ he was Flying! Thought it might have been you🤠 ...met Alex great guy!
I must have got lucky my wheels are as true as when I purchased just tightened a couple after a couple rides...anyways the build keeps looking better!

*warning* do not recommend DOING this mod yourself, what a PITA. Anyway, I cut out the screen on my filter cage. It took cutters, files, dremels and more time than I had imagined.

Secondly, I added a NOT frugal component to the list. I just had to...

That sucks, the screen on my CRF had 4 tabs you folded up and released from the cage. Enjoying the build so far, whats next?

I've been considering cutting the cage out of my 18' 450 as well. Let me know if you notice a difference! I looked at it and thought, "yea I bet that's gonna suck" and decided against it, unless there's a gain in response!

That's been my previous experience with others as well. This one had the screen basically melted into the cage all around. Definitely a bitch!

Not sure what's next. Might do some dyno time and custom tuning for now. Also considering head mods but I'm still speaking with a few companies on that.

Man, it's really tough to tell but I feel like the response is even crispier if anything. I can say that the whole combo of cutting the cage, trimming the air box and trimming the snorkels off side panels definitely made a difference!

As somebody else coming from KTMs and now tearing into my Suzuki, some of their engineering department's decision's are......questionable at best.

I have rivets in my airbox that legitimately can't be accessed.

Bummer they didn’t keep the same air filter from the previous generation. Would have been way easier to just buy a YZ250 cage.

For sure. I hate changing filters in these bikes vs the Austrian bikes and some of the parts/brackets I want to throw in the trash. Like steel stamped and bent brackets, pretty heavy and archaic.

The carbon tank fits nice and as mounted it is almost a half pound lighter than stock (7 oz lighter).

Why not just buy the No Toil flow kit or whatever it's called instead of cutting the OEM cage? Comes with a cage with no screen and an air filter.

Honestly, I just didn’t do the research beforehand. That’s why I said I don’t recommend others bother with this. I’m already used to seeing cool parts not offered for the zuk so I didn’t look into it before cutting this one.

Thanks bud! It’s a super fun bike for me and forces me to not stay in a gear too long trying to pull more revs 😅

Some minor before and after 'under the radar' additions.

-Suzuki race team spark plug coil holder
-Suzuki race team clutch cable bracket
-Suzuki race team rear axle castle nut

Haha thank you. The chain-link stampings alternate so not all of them are upside-down.
