Stick a fork in him.

Big fan his whole career really, but he's got no chance at this championship. Maybe some wins, won't be close for championship and I wonder how nationals will go. Just seems different.

Yeah, totally. He sucks at speedway tracks, hasn't won in forever, is totally crash-prone, coming off a terrible couple of seasons in both outdoors and SX, and there are only a few races left. Put a fork in him. I mean he's never done this before his whole career, so he must be done.

Apparently the imposter that swaps places with Eli when he shows up and looks mediocre.

Oh were you talking about Lido? Yeah, he doesn't have a shot at the title.

I'm a huge Eli fan, but he really backs off in the first turn. It's baffling.

Looking like he has foot out the door. Tomac not fading late in the race is not normal

Seems like fans will appreciate a bit more transparency from what's going on with him.

Wonder what MEK and the Kawi bosses think but sure it seems Tomac regrets having left Honda.

Having left Honda? He has 3 outdoor titles a supercross title and shot pod of wins it’s a very successful career so far

I think 40 odd Sx wins, a title, 3 straight outdoor titles and a couple MEC wins is fine by all standards.

Whatever tho, Eli doesn’t seem to be pushing at all, maybe he is content or maybe there is something up, but he’s clanking rhythms, double apexing turns, not pushing through stuff. Not like him the last few years at all,

I’ve noticed that too. He backs off a lot more than other riders. I have seen starts where he had the jump but just backed off. That’s his biggest fault his whole career.

I know this is said about him basically every season and he could very well go on a tear where we see him bulldog his way from mid pack to 1st for the next 5 weeks, but yeah, dude seems off a bit so far. Can't count the guy out though because that "Hangtown Massacre" speed is still in there. If I were a bettin' man I'd say they're probably struggling with bike setup.

It’s looking like he is carrying the same sort of form as he had in the outdoors

How could he possibly be hung up on setup?? his bike literally and I mean literally hasn't changed as a base since it came out 3 years ago. Factory kawi has been using a similar clutch setup the 21 just got the whole time they've been racing this gun bike.

He was 8 seconds off lead in 5th with 13 minutes to go. I thought he could of marched forward but nope- nothing, actually lost time...
Maybe it was just the track not allowing many options to make time- I doubt he would of found that jump line in the whoops that looked much faster.
Hopefully we get some good tracks and he can get out of the gate better- he needs to go on a run for rest of season

Maybe it is

A. The bikes have all gotten close in performance, set up, and handling

B. The tracks have become harder to make up time on.

C. All the fast guys are running so hard and precise for the entire race and the differences in their speed is so small that unless they make a big mistake they are set in place where they start.

D. Maybe he is getting older, has a new child, and after finally winning the heavy number has a hard time getting that burning feeling in the pit of his stomach to kick it up to the that next level.

E. All of the above

I think he needs to find a mental coach like Kenny got. He tried so long for the SX title and now that he finally got it there seems to be a loss of that fire or drive. The outdoors last summer and so far this sx season hasn’t been the same guy. Flashes of that guy but it’s rare. Oh yeah, maybe get someone to drop at gate for you during the week? Hopefully he figures it out because the racing is better when he’s actually “in it”

I’ve been a Tomac fan since he was on 65s so it pains me to say this, but I think he’s done battling for championships. After winning SX last year and a bad start to the outdoors, he hasn’t been the same old Eli once. I think he will retire after this year.

D. Makes me sad. RC was half retired and still hated losing more than he enjoyed winning. I appreciate that about him.

I think he's going to want to do one last "regular" season but also possible that he will retire after this year.
