DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Yeah, they are expensive all dolled up and new but several of my buddies have about $10K into their used setups and they work perfect. My friend with a 2016 TS Mountain Horse track kills it.
I'm riding a 2021 Summit Expert 175 Turbo this winter, it is insanity.
I know lots of guys who have bought used 450s and converted them for $10k or less too.
Seems to me if you like the snowbike thing it is only a matter of time before you get a dedicated bike for it. You can lose lots of riding time on either snow or dirt if you play the game of switching them over.

Angel shit.
I rented from https://www.vailextremerentals.com/timbersleds/
They are a ton of fun. So I just rent once or twice a winter to minimize my exposure to the dangers of the backcountry. That said, they are amazing! You can boon dock and side hill so easy on them. Snowmobiles have a ton more power though to go straight up a hill, Snow bike you have to zig zag your way up.
But I literally have a fear/phobia of avalanches of being trapped in wet cement and I like to ride the more moderate to extreme terrain. Avalanche avoidance training which I highly recommend a free basic class before you do any backcountry if your a newb. Going with someone experienced doesn't mean you will be safe or they are avalanche aware.
snowbiking is fun but dangerous. Local dude just perished Monday in an avy at the same spot I was going riding
Pit Row
As much as I like snobikes, for less money you can get an >200 HP Yamaha sidewinder or a SkiDoo 2 stroke twin 850 and be way faster and more comfortable. For me the skidoo 850 is it..2 stroke smell and acceleration!
One recent ride we hit 9 mountain lakes in a 30 mile loop - no roads or trails at all.
Also a shameless plug for my insta: https://www.instagram.com/dteal210/
Not all Vitards are squids cause I can vouch for the skills this guy has 🤣
Experience. Being a powder skier or boarder helps.
Damn, git some!
