I was surprised when the one on eBay was still there so I bought it decided I want to do a Carmichael replica after seeing yours it gave me some motivation you happen to know if any more bar pads 😂
I may have a genuine factory shifter in the works, just waiting to hear back. Good luck finding a barpad mate, I had been looking for about 2 years prior to finding this one. They do pop up every now and then. Seat covers are another thing that is hard to get hold of as one industries is no longer

Great job man. Like what you did with the shifter. I think I may do the same on my bike.

Nah I'm talking about blasting a hammerhead. I like factory look not black and bling. If I was going to plug the end I'd do silicone

I blasted the tip and the arm then brushed the shifter arm. Polished the pivot pin. Then had a mate turn up the plug which I left brushed.

The ignition cover and water pump cover is cerakoted in a champagne silver that a mate made for me, I’m pretty happy with the finish that came out

One will pop up eventually but you may have to pay a substantial amount for it

You don't need to blast off the old anodize and not recommended.. remove at home in 10 min with sodium hydroxide (lye) which is what must drain cleaners are made off, then brush finish with WD40 and a 3M pad. 10-15 min work in total and the cost of the drain cleaner.

I’ll try that next time. It didn’t take much of a blast to get the required finish. Scotch brite did the majority of the work on the shaft. The finish has stayed consistent for the last 9months without tarnishing. Wd40 is used a lot in my shed 👍🏽

Been a while since I’ve updated, recently had the carbon fiber front disc guard arrive after a very, very lengthy wait. Also a few extra pieces of Ti for engine mount bolts. Main thing left to do is kashima coat fork tubes and A kit shock housing. This will most likely happen once my little Honda Z50j project is complete. Bike is currently taking pride of place in my living room whilst the build has been progressing on the Z50j

Your build is well done with attention to detail, beautiful build. I’m starting my RC build. I’ve just finished my third builds, of a Davi Millsaps rm125, Sobe Brandon Jessemen rm 125 and Travis Pastrana rm125, it’s been  3years to finish builds. Now RC RM 250. What color did you use on ignition cover and water pump?? Where did you purchase graphic??  What jetting specs did you use for RC pro circuit pipe, I have one too??

These are the wheel set that going on the bike, consists of standard second hand hubs that have been cleaned up on a lathe just to remove all the little dints and marks. They were then cerakoted burnt bronze to replicate the factory magnesium rear hub that came on the factory 04-05 bikes. They were then build up with stainless spokes and yellow excel rims. Tyres are Bridgestone x20/30

Also cleaned up the cast marks and lines on the rear suspension linkage knuckle

What do u use to get them to look like that,

Thanks for the kind words mate. I’ve got an RM125 that is ear-marked for a pastrana replica, just havnt got around to even starting it.

The colour of the stator cover and water pump cover is a custom champagne mix a mate came up with.

Graphics were from unbounded in the Uk. Well worth it. He does fantastic work.
I can’t remember what getting specs I used as it was many years ago.

Awesome build man! May I ask who did the carbon front disc guard for you? I’m in need of some carbon work for my 2002 CR250 Carmichael bike.

Yea sir

I took the cast lines off carefully with a dremel and flapper wheel. The rest is pretty much hand sanding and patience. Takes a long times and you end up with sore hands/finger

Thanks for the kind words mate, I’ve actually got 2x carbon front disc guards. 1 is factory Suzuki from an RMZ (mounting is the same as RM) and the other is lightspeed. They are very similar in shape. The rear disc guard is also lightspeed
