Who are the flaggers in Supercross?

Are these people they pick out of the crowd? Do they work for KTM? Criminals doing community service? Retirement home residents getting out? There for a free lunch?

You get signed up through the lead flagger with FELD. You get paid to be there and get training beforehand. There are also "full-time" guys who travel with the series (dig dugs with radios)

Riders have their lives and salaries in the hands of someone standing on the side of the track waving a flag. In some cases multiple different flags in the same section.

I suspect this will quickly become the same old conversation about flaggers by a bunch of people who have probably never done it but are full to the brim with expertise on the subject
