Hi all. New to the group but have been following for a long time. I finally made the pull on a 89 yz250 I think WR but not really sure. I picked it up for a cool steal of $200. After seeing all the builds on here I figured I would give it a shot. Always wanted a dirt bike.

The po said it had about twenty hours on top end rebuild and just quit running. So knowing me I like fixing atvs why not a dirt bike. Seems a lot easier to work on.

I prep the frame and brought her back to life with a fresh coat of enamel.

Nice! I”m not a YZ expert, but I did restore a 92 last year & learned a bit. It appears your bike is a YZ, looks to have a 19 inch rear rim, smaller gas tank & normal chain adjusters, where I think the WR had 18 rear wheel, larger tank, and quick adjust rear axle? They share many parts either way. Look up UFO plastic for oem style plastics and Evo-MX for the correct decals if you want to go back to the oem look. Looks good, Keep the photos coming!

Looks like everyone is sold out of this in the US unless you can still order direct from UFO Plastic (link right above has an Add to Cart link, I'd call them before you buy). You can still get it from the UK however

What's going on inside the motor? Why did it quit running?
