I’m also looking at it as a ‘21 taken off the lot is now a used bike but a ‘20 taken off the lot is now a year old used bike. It will definitely be worth less than the ‘21 as soon as it’s titled.

Bought a 21 KX 450 a few months ago. Only a couple in the state. Was $10.5 OTD. That was about 1K cheaper than anywhere else I could find. Found two 21 YZ 450, both were 12K OTD and sold with in a week. If your not riding this winter waiting might not be too bad. Sold my used bike for a premium so it was a wash basically. $9700 OTD doesn't seem too bad right now. Probably better deals, but they're hard to come by.

The 21 does have a better clutch wich would be 1k or so to swap out. If you take out the jutter spring on the 20 its only a few dollars to swap it for a fiber though.

Yea for real. I did get 2K more for my used bike at the time I sold it then I would have before. So its like paying $8.5K OTD. Still though its crazy here. 12K for a YZ and no wiggle room.

Took me a week or to to come to the realization I was gonna let my self pay that much for a bike. Lmao

That’s almost as bad as the Facebook Marketplace ads around here for used bone stock 110’s for $3500!

I’m really wrestling with what is the price difference before it makes sense to buy a ‘20 over a ‘21. Is it $1000, $1500, etc? I’m not terribly worried about the clutch difference as I’m not a clutch abuser. The only thing different on the 2 bikes I know I would need to change is the bar mounts on the ‘20 to run a Fatbar.
Do you have your heart set on green? Or would you consider a 2020 Honda? I spoke to Honda East last week. They have two leftover 450F's for $8315 otd. I thought that was a great deal.

There are a few 2020s in the midwest with a $7200 OTD price tag. There are some deals now that we're on the heels of snow.

Loomis - I'm in the same boat. My 16' KX450 is getting a little long in the tooth.
I'm NOT paying $10k for a new bike. I ride this antique another year. Tongue

I'm definitely waiting until spring. Maybe we can get a package deal if we buy 2!

The 20' CRF deal at Honda East is good!

Where can you get a 2020 450 for $7200 otd? (that's not a Suzuki, of course)

I scored on what I thought was a good deal on about the only 2020 KX left in Michigan. Just got home from picking it up at Lakeside Motorsports in Mecosta. Got it for $8282 otd.

I just spoke to a Honda/KTM dealer who says he is trying to hire 5 more people so they can build enough new bikes. Now that the 2021s are hitting the dealerships, all the deposits are coming through and they can't build them fast enough to stock up the showroom. The dealership can't pull technicians off the service jobs to prep new bikes, either, because there is still too much of that work going on as well.
The bikes are literally selling as fast as they can build them - that's why there are none out there, and also why you are paying top dollar if you find one.

Dang. That's insane. You guys are lucky with prices like that. Pretty sure you can't get close to that here in the MI/OH area.

I think you did really well at that price. Congrats on the new ride! Enjoy it.

I'd be riding the RMZ that has 21hrs on it and saving myself $8k.
