Something in MXGP has to change: Coldenhoff crashed today:
What we currently know is he has a fracture in two vertebrae but has feeling in arms and legs. He is currently being transferred to the hospital in Herentals. Huge thanks to the medical team in Lommel. They did an incredibly good job.

Desalle says that in 2017-2018 the track prep changed drastically and the tracks are way more dangerous than what they used to be.
It's one of the reasons why he retires

More riders should look more into better protection, neck brace, back protector. Maybe that would reduce the serious injuries atleast.

A fairly smooth Lommel is actually dangerous as guys can still go so fast and it’s getting sketchy! In 2nd moto there are huge bumps that guys are usually going much slower than in qualifying so it’s safer.
I had a few friends racing the EMX classes over the years and most of them enjoyed the track rough than “smooth” during qualifying.

Track prep might have changed on harder pack track s . But lommel has been the exact same for the last 10 years. And thats where he crashed . If you ask the riders about track prep , half of them will say its better now and half will say it s worse. And really all you will find out is wat type of track the rider likes and does well at . Imo the racing has improved alot since they stopped ripping the crap out of them . You say there more injuries, well AJ one s was kind of freek , Herrings was getting injured alot back in 2016 -17 just as much .
