Hey all
So I’m probably getting a new 2021 Yz250f here in a month and I was wondering about the stock handlebar mounts.

On my 2020 crf250r I got the ride engineering one piece mount as the stock ones seemed pretty flimsy. And anytime the bike even just had a minor tip over day in a slow rutted corner the bars would slip or twist in the mounts.

My question is on the yz I see they also make a One. Is it needed on this bike also. Same type of setup as the Honda stock? Light tip over and the bars twist ?
Is there a best brand to use or is the said one noted the best ?
I’m also 5’11 and I have been reading that most people spin the stock mounts around to move the bars farther forward. Not sure how many mm let’s say 10mm. It says the ride engineering ones when turned around only have I think 4mm or something. I’m saying that. Is that enough forward.
Just trying to get the best part for the bike as I hate when the bars twist. But I want the bars to go that extra bit fwd. Thanks !

The stock Yam bar mounts are fine. They are nothing like Kawi or Honda mounts that twist in a stiff breeze. The Yamaha bar mounts are also offset with 2 positions in the top clamp to position them in, meaning you will be able to find a bar position you are happy with. I always run the mounts in the holes closest to the tank and rotated forward. Running the mounts in the holes closest to the front of the bike is no good unless you are super tall. You lose leverage and control of the front end imo. If you're worried about YZ cockpit organise your favourite set of bars to put on before you get the new bike. The stock Yamaha bend Pro Tapers are bogus.

That’s good to hear my crf just a light tip over and they would twist in the mounts.

Never even sat on a yzf yet so I have no idea how it feels lol. Wouldn’t really say I have fav handle bars the crf was my first dirt bike at the rip old age of 37 lol.

So I’ll just use the stick mounts for now then and rotate them forward like you said.

I don't agree with the guy above. My 2018, 2019 YZ450F and 2020 YZ250F all had stock bar mounts that twisted in pretty much any small tip over. I got Xtrig clamps and bar mounts to eliminate it.

Off topic a bit but what are the best rad braces for it ? The works connection ones ?

Yeah the yamaha mounts are far better than the Honda. I have to really torque the mounts to the triple clamps to minimize the twisting when I fall. Yamaha is a lot better, but a faster fall will twist.

I actually prefer the feel of the stock mounts on my 2019 YZ250F, however I bought the 450 oem ones as they are approx. 1/4" taller. I am 5'10" and I run them in the back/rear holes with clamps rotated forward. I also moved to a Renthal Fatbar stock Honda bend, 839 I believe. This bar is very neutral and feels good to me rotated a little back or forward.

Our mounts are the same as stock in height and offset. We include 5mm titanium spacers to adjust the height as well so you have either stock or +5mm height options.

GYTR also has just the aluminum cones that can replace the rubber ones so they won't twist. Much cheaper option and works great.

Ya I was thinking of getting the ride engineering ones I had their cones for my Honda worked good.

The aluminum cones will fix the twisting issues for a lot less money, but then you lose all the benefits of rubber mounted bars. You'll feel a lot more vibration and impact in your hands. Some people prefer that, though, so if that works for you, then the aluminum cones will do the job.
