Have a 2010 CRF that has been sitting since about 2013. I believe I left it with gas in the tank. I know enough to know I shouldn’t try to start it. 2010 was the first EFI year I believe, so I’m not dealing with a dirty carb, but what am I looking at from seven years of sitting with bad gas?

I know I need new tires for certain. What else should I do?

Worst case Ontario you have dried and brittle seals in the bottom end, or methanol separated gas that ate the rubber in your fuel line and fuel pump system. I would thoroughly flush the tank with fresh gas and see what happens......

But it’s not my crank to replace - so I wouldn’t take my word for it

I would drain all the fuel out, put fresh in and fire it up. For the rest I would just give it a good once over, replace what needs to be and enjoy it.

Get some oil thru the motor...so...
With all the fuel out & maybe take the spark-plug out (Rememeber: keep dirt out of your motor!...so, find something to cover/protect the plug area. You'd be surprised at how much vacuum that motor creates thru that hole)...cycle it thru 5 or 6 slow kicks and then coupl'a quick kicks to get some oil up in the head.

Good Luck!

Air filter material is probably brittle too.

Worst case Ontario you’ll just need fresh gas and to clean your injector. EFI bikes do much better sitting over carbuerated bikes. New spark plug couldn’t hurt either

Yes, your air filter will be bad, replace it.

Nitrogen pressure in shock should be checked. Surprisingly, the rubber bladder is slightly pourous and pressure will drop over time.

It's a Honda. I bet it starts right up bad gas and all.

I agree and I ain't gonna lie...I'd check the oil and let it rip and see what happens. Fuel injected bikes are pretty resilient so fuel issues in my experience. Get it started...if it starts fill it the rest of the way with new gas and let her eat.

And yes I am sure that air filter will turn to dust as soon as you touch it..so change that!

Going from there this it doesn’t take rocket appliance it’s a dirt bike. Best way to see if the gas is good is you f*** taste it. Unleaded tastes a little tangy. supreme is kinda sour, and diesel tastes pretty good. Better than the denial and error method
