My latest project is rebuilding this 1999 Honda CR250.
Will be a ride bike, so have not gone completely into a full resto, but replaced what was needed and added some Haan Wheels etc.
Getting close to finish, not decided on the exhaust yet.

a few photos of the process:

Very nice! I've always wanted to ride one of these generation Honda's. Everyone bitches about them, but I wonder if they do that because that's what the magazines said.

Yeah, I was wondering the same. I bought it and tore it down before even riding it, so I really look forward to ride it.
I used Motocross Action Magazine inside secrets of the 1999 CR250 as a reference for setting it up, so I think it will be good.

Love it. To me they've always been the most beautiful CR250s ever.

I rode a buddies 99 CR125 about 10 years ago. It was the most rigid and harsh dirt bike I’ve ever ridden! It was just as bad as I had heard growing up. I was stoked to ride a 125 again, but I have no want to ever ride a first gen aluminum frame Honda ever again.

I dont feel it. I think my 2019 crf450 is harsher. I do have modern forks/xtrigs and shock on it.
Anyway OP that is my favourite factory Honda scheme.

I used UFO plastics. Only set I could find in red.

Thanks for the kind words Brian!

Just Installed the original exhaust with 4 spacers to try out before I decide on the exhaust system this one will get.
It's a bit beat up, but will do for now.

I love that wheel set on Hondas. I think black gets overused.

Here are a few pictures of the bike with the original beat up exhaust, and with both HRC look and OEM look.

Easily the worst bike to ride I've ever owned, and you're making me miss it 😂
