How would you prepare a newbie for a party at Lake Havasu ?

When is " the season"? Labour day weekend and spring break only?
What people actually do there? Only boating and drinking during the daytime?
People, who are not locals haul their boat to the lake? Or they just rent one?
Can you just hop on a boat with strangers?

Any info would be appreciated.

People usually leave their keys in the boat at the dock. Just grab the fastest one and send it.

Gotta agree with that one. The only time I’ve ever been slapped by my wife in 42 years of marriage was early on when we did a weekend in Havasu with a bunch of friends. My head was turning left/right/up/down so much my neck was killing me by the time the weekend was over.

It’s really bad when your chick knows your type. The minute she sees that other chick, she’s already watching you.
Even with sunglasses, your screwed.

Its been many years since I have been there, but I don't think there are many boat rentals during spring break or holiday weekends (too much crazy shit happens for them to risk renting boats to rookie drivers). People just trailer their boats in from wherever they live (mostly CA, NV, and AZ).

If you are in a group that is all female, you will not have a problem finding a boat to just "hop on". Probably would have numerous offers for a "ride"...

But for a group of guys probably a little harder to find a ride unless you just happen to meet another group of guys and hit it off while out and about (the bars).

Pretty much everyone parks in the coves (copper cove from what I recall) in groups tied together. Then the drinking, nudity, music, etc. goes until dark. People can get pretty stupid so keep someone sober to drive.

Then the party continues later on in the bars around the London Bridge.

All weekends are busy, but obviously spring break and the holiday weekends are jam packed

I went out late on a Friday night once with a borrowed boat. Saturday morning, got up to get the thing ready and about 10 chicks poured out of the hotel room next to ours. "Where are you going? Can we get a ride? Oh my gosh, that boat is so nice!!!"
We had company all weekend. It's that easy.

PS- Marine etiquette dictates that you ask before boarding a vessel. Usually, the answer is yes, especially if you have a few beers with you.

We adopted the phrase “can you hear me now” when that was Verizon‘s ad thing. All the guys in our group knew to scan when they heard it. Worked until one of the mrs’s figured it out, lol
