Eli will be better off this year than any. He has no pressure anymore. My question is, will Cooper Webb come in guns blazing and possibly give Eli a run for the outdoor championship?

I doubt that Team Green will even have any #1 number plates with white backgrounds on the truck.

If I started a thread “Is Webb ready for the Nationals?” People on here would be freaking out and GuyB would delete my thread. ET3 is on another level on outdoors, basically a Stew level at times. ET3 wins again this year most likely.

I can believe that Webb will be better outdoors this year than he was last year.

But give ET a run for the $$? He had exactly 1 win/podium last year & the rest of the time got beat by 3-5 guys.

It will be interesting to see just how much better CW is. He surely hasn't peaked outdoors.

But I don't see him beating ET & ZO much - maybe every body else depending on how strongly MooseCan comes back.

Eli wants a perfect season. Not sure how many Nat's we will have, but I'm willing to guess he seriously doesn't want to lose even one moto. He wants to run the table on the boys.

I agree, but the thing that keeps Eli from that is his occasional bad start. Zach isn't going to give it up easily if he holeshots and Eli is coming from 16th. But he gets to 2nd every time that happens... Points keep piling on. I think Zach beats Webb and Anderson on the year. Roczen isn't there physically and Marvin will take a bit to get up to speed. Flashes from Baggett and a few others, but nothing consistent like Eli and Zach... I think that's the 1-2 this year, but it's not really that close in points.

For Eli... The Championship is much more important than a perfect season, I would think?

Good point but let’s not forget that Eli usually has enough time outdoors to run them down all the way to first as he has done time after time!! I think we are all lucky that his starts suck as his beast mode rides are such fun to watch!!

No doubt, Eli when feeling good on the bike is something to behold. Sometimes multiple seconds a lap faster than everyone else. The reason I specifically said Zach, is he is one of the very few, like Eli that can turn his fastest lap in the last lap of the moto...

I hope they race... That's what we all want, right? Line those suckers up and lets go racing.

You mean Eli's "occasional good" start. ET, the king of entertainment. He makes it fun for us fans.

Every riders streak of championships come to an end at some point. Take RC out of the picture because he is a freak.

Three in a row is it for nationals based on history. Hence, why I asked the question.

I think it is more mental than anything else to keep a title streak going. Meaning does the rider really want it that badly anymore after winning three in a row?

Maybe Eli is happy going to the lake with the family and not training as much? Who knows.

You also need some luck to keep it going. I hope he does it though. I will be rooting for him.

Maybe Eli is happy going to the lake with the family instead of winning motos????

You obviously don't know Eli, or his dad.

The Tomacs strike me as the people who accept nothing but the best. In this case, winning everything. Eli doesn't strike me as the kind of athlete that is content just to be out there if he isn't winning or in the hunt for the championship.

So, no way would he go out there and compete without an intent to win it all. Once he loses that, he'll retire I would guess

No, I don't know them. But I do know that motivation wanes at some point for every racer. RC, RV, and RD quit at 27.

Dungey even quit after winning the SX title when he was signed to ride the nationals.

RV gave a lackluster (conditioning-wise) effort in the GP's based on his prior standard.

Not saying Eli is not training hard. But to win four in a row he will have to be at max effort right now. Maybe he is doing that...just wondering.

Do some research on John Tomac bicycling. Various disciplines. Multi champion. Rare breed those Tomacs.

I have no doubt Eli will be ready now with the new delay.

The SX and new baby 'hangover' potential will not be a factor with the extra time. Wink

Webb/Zack//Ken are saying darn! This is good for Marvin and AC though.
