this old model has one speed...FAST... much faster than my current model. It’s almost closer to The speed and power of an angle grinder than current dremels haha.

I had my $200 Dewalt drill fall off my ladder and hit the concrete and break the housing and they said I was out of luck and you will have to buy a new one, did the same with the $125 Ryobi and I called to see if I could buy the trigger housing and they sent me a whole new drill and told me to keep the broken one, I register everything I buy on the Ryobi and they are good about customer service.

I take pics of all my tools with list of model numbers for my insurance because if the insurance company thinks you use you tools to make a living then home owners may not cover them so I buy a separate policy that cover just my tools from air compressors to mig and tig welders bead plaster, etc etc. And I bring home something new at least once a week and my wife bans me from Home depot from time to time.

I have a ryobi drill and driver. My next power tools will be ryobi for sure, tons of options and affordable batteries

Lowes has this one now in all the sizes. I really want this to replace my current Hansen's which doesn't fit certain size sockets.

I used to be an auto tech in a previous life and when I was a student, bought a huge lot of Snap-On hand tools at 50% off. I bought a bunch of tool truck tools when I was working on cars and have been filling in with homeowner/DIY quality selectively recently. I've invested quite a lot over time and am proud of my tools; I hope to pass them down to my children so they can put them to use one day.

Lostboy, I'm right there with you on Ryobi especially since they upgraded to the Lithium series. All my buddies are Rigid and DeWalt diehards, but I'm doing just fine with my trusty and less expensive Ryobis. Problem is I have about 20 18v batteries. Guess that's a good thing. I don't have the amount you do, but I'm at least 1/2 way there.

They has a story in one of the papers I think it was the wall street journal, not sure which one but it was how Ryobi was reinventing the cordless tool market and out selling the other cordless tools brand like 5 to 1 and the reason the customers were buying the Ryobi one cordless tools is that the same battery fits them all and less expensive.

That's what I didn't like about DeWalt was they kept changing the battery style so the tool would be worthless unless you bought a new over priced battery that only fit the older tools. Now the other brands are going the same route by having one battery fits all their tools and also having tool sales like Ryobi has been doing. I am very happy with all the Roybi tools I have and I even have a Ryobi power washer with the Honda 190cc idle down engine and it works great.

My dad bought me this box for my 16th birthday.


28 yrs later, it is still going to every race and very functional in the garage. Just toss in what I need for the weekend and reorganize after.


Lower box is nothing special.
