I agree that the numbers are way too small. Makes watching it more difficult. I hope they change that rule before Hangtown.

I'll climb aboard this bandwagon and concur - FWIW, IMHO, YMMV, yada yada yada... the change to small numbers is not a positive change.

You guys ever go to an eye doctor? Might be a good idea.

Even if you can't read the side number, you probably already saw the one on the front or can use some quick deductive reasoning to figure out who is who.

Fast KTM, Monster logo on the side, goofy ass euro helmet (Airoh) - Max Anstie.

Being there and seeing it in person, the numbers are fine, TV might be another story.

People just hate change and bitch about it just to bitch about it until they eventually get used to it.

You can get used to something and still not like it. I'll get used to it but I'll never change my backgrounds to it.

Gang, we hear you. This is an experimental year in many ways, and I think the proof will be in the pudding. If not, we can always change back...

But watching live, it seemed pretty cool to me. Then again, I see enough races to know someone for their riding style. That said, I couldn't tell Barcia apart from Canard at times in the second moto.

Thanks for the feedback, thanks for watching, thanks for having patience....

We had the same problem 25 years ago and we had oversize front number plates?

10 steps backwards IMO.

I was sitting on the side of Lucas Hill 50 feet from the track and I struggled with rider numbers.

Most guys were using the small numbers on the sidepanels which made it impossible for me know who was who. Once the front number plate got muddy it was guessing game.

Initially, I struggled with differentiating Stroupe, Weimer, Pourcel, and 411. First lap had no idea who the two Honda rider were putting the hurt to the 250 field.

I believe you need to watch the race from the fence to see who is who.

MOST IMPORTANTLY I DIDN'T SEE ONE SPONSOR STICKER ON THE SIDE PANELS.

Euros have no clue how to run a show...why are we copying them?

If the majority of people are usually going off on the way the rider always spouts off sponsor after sponsor, that idea's only going to set them off worse. And to be honest, that's just a dumb idea, no offense.

Besides, the rider needs that board in front of them so they can remember them all. Watch a riders eyes in a podium interview, you can watch them read it all the time.

Love the idea, and on TV I cant see how anyone would complain. In person maybe another story. Only thing I didnt like was the small numbers. They looked cheesy, I would get rid of side number plates completely.

Here's an example, Factory KTM team were each rider wears identical gear. If its this difficult to tell by a quick glance who that rider is in a picture you know its gotta be really hard as they fly by you and maybe there front plate is covered up with dirt. This could easily be one of four riders: Hahn, Searle, Davalos, Sipes.

I think it'd be a good idea if riders had numbers on the front of the bikes and on their backs too

But that's just silly talk

(oh, it's says "123")

and can you tell me how you'd see THROUGH HIS LEGS if he had regular numbers? You buy those X-ray glasses in the back of Mad Magazine?

Most of us on here know who's who, but for the fans that are new to the sport may have a hard time figureing it out. There are more people that dislike them than like them. Even Ferry said he doesnt like them. Throughout the next several races you will see them be modified and adjusted

If you guys are the "core" fans like you say you are then you should know the rider just by their style. :-P

Personally, I enjoy the 3d hologram idea.

If they had "normal" side number plates in that picture I couldn't read the number, but I sure can now.

Damn these new side panels sure are dumb. Whistling

This is good, voice your opinion about the things you like and don't like. What I see is that the TV program is going over well. Fans seem to like DB and JW, and they are voicing it.
On the flip side, the smaller numbers seem to cause confusion for many and they will be scolded if they express their opinion. Truth is, this is what the people providing the service need to hear. What works and what doesn't. I actually filled out a survey on Vitalmx, for marketing purposes, and you should too.
Without the consumer or viewer, the pro's are just Sunday Warriors.

FYI: If you can identify each rider in the 250 and 450 class by their riding style, there is something dull about your life. IMO
