I can count 10 guys on this list that I would put my money on making a top 5 before Barcia. Maybe he will crack it, but it will be tough. He better hope for a really good start.

I'm not trying to put him down, but like I said before, it's one race, and it's a long series. A young kid coming in should really just be happy to make it through his first race with decent finishes.

First off, he has been on big bikes for 2 years. We watch Justin train almost everyday and know his family extremely well, they (his parents) have put no hype out there about Justin and only wish a safe first national for him. You wont see any "believe the hype" shirts or any b.s. from them, the only hype is from people outside his family. Justin has alot of talent on a motorcycle and win or lose we are all cheering for him. If you dont personally know him than how can you have a honest opinion? Flame away!!!!

Let's stick with the US nationals here since both racers are having their first pro national at GH. Kind of stupid I think to bring up that point because it's an obvious home turf advantage for each rider. That's like RC at Southwick and Everts at Namur. It's all about the US nationals this weekend, not the GPs.

I definitely agree. This family put everything they had into Justin. They are very nice people and I've known them since Justin was on KTM 50s. They are not into the hype thing at all and yes, there is pressure and nerves with the first pro national jitters but I know they have a HUGE smile on their face to see their son race his first pro national. I'm very happy for them and to have gone through so much to be where they are now is just extra icing on the cake.

hmmmm??......well , he looked pretty good in this video , but that video didn't really show me squat. why?.....because it's smooth as hell , very wide , good loam , and very much a wide open track. I haven't seen him ride in any rough stuff yet , and if this is what he's used to , he's going to be in for rude awakening at GH! I think he "may' crack top 10 , but honestly , i think top 15 is what might happen if he keeps it up right. I wish him luck , he's got a bright future for sure.

An essential tool in US outdoor MX track preperation, used to make the riders seem faster.

isnt it crazy for soemone to have high expectations for someone coming off of 80s. i mean really?not even 1 year racing the big bikes yet? sure hes fast but give him some time. i hope its not to rude awakening for him. theres alot of fast kids this year(experienced pros)
Theres no doubt the boy is fast

However, he seems too anxious, I can almost gurantee you that he will wad himself up a couple times before he slows down a little bit. He will have a learning curve to go through.

Why not just watch him ride in person? You people need to get out more.....

I just want to say,I'm as giddy as a little school girl about going to GH tomorrow. So glad to have Searle,Pourcel,Rattray and most of all Anstie over here.I think Dungey will be the most consistent for the overall. Stroupe next and then Pourcel for the overall. But I think Barcia will finish top 5 and maybe podium a moto if he doesn't crash.

Do you really think he hasn't rode ruff tracks to prepare for GH? That kid (based on "the hype") has probably got his bases covered on all fronts im sure he wouldn't want to be blasted on here for his FIRST PROFESSIONAL RACE unless he plans on sweeping both moto's ....geez ...insert sarcasm here give him a break and let him enjoy his race and lets see how he fare's in his FIRST race

Damn, this rev-thing got out of hand. If he and his cranky mechanic thinks its necessary, let him torture that sucker! I will still think it's a bit stupid to rev for no reason, but it's not my life or bike...

But it seems like he's not doing it any more so whatever?

I saw RV at Broome in '05......I think that was his second pro race. I remember sitting on the hill watching him make time on Langston and Tedesco. Bones was on the hill too and it looked like he gave RV the "thats far enough" sign.Cool

exactly its in the US so Barcia's home turf i'm just pointing out that if max had home turf he would be really fast too... they are both similar speed= BArcia is not a level ahead of Anstie overall.

Antsie has been riding in the US since he was on 65's. He has MORE WORDLY experience and has riden more different types of tracks than anyy other amateur rider...... there is no home track advantage.
