Can someone explain me how or where in the ama site I can get an AMA license to maybe be able to compete in the outdoor National in Southwick ?

When i did it back in the day, you had to get a release from your home Federation to allow you to get your AMA Pro one. Was a pain in the arse , not helped by the time difference.

you should be able to race with a FIM start permission from your own federation, if you get a AMA licence, you will have to give up your current one . (you cant hold 2 licences from FIM affiliated federations at once,

there was another Jeffrey who did this.... came over and did Ironman, I think

no idea how he did though? believe he had quite a high number, so probably sucked

That's how it is everywhere else, but the AMA was different, I had to suspend my ACU one, to take out the AMA one, but then your insurance is invalid cos you don't hold the license, obviously is doable and may have changed , it was 2003 when I did it.

i think its better now, i know some riders from here gave up there MNZ licences to take out AMA ones if they were doing the whole series because the insurance is cheaper, FIM makes you have repatriation insurance which is expensive,
