Thanks.
Bought it directly from pps, no website but has facebook page.
Belgian craftsmanship, some emx teams uses these exhaust.
And i see them frequently on others peoples bikes, from what i am told they seem to work very well.
Did not ride the bike with this pipe yet...

Nice job! I dig the exhaust. It's the first one I've seen on the new gen 250 that looks "right" with that smoth round shape.
Ride report when you get the chance please!

Finally rode the bike, minus the suspension wich i sold.
Everything was good except coming out of the corner, needed to use the clutch...
Think jetting is a bit off, past that point it is a rocket Laughing

Had the chance to ride once more, rained alot past period so track was nasty.
Heavy dutch sandtrack combined with rain makes you and the bike work.
Again, bike rips in higher rpm. But in turns it is a disaster, had to clutch all turns. Sometimes even going back to 1st gear.
Messed a bit with airscrew but could not make it work.
480main
45pilot
Needle 44-73 on 3rd clip.
As 1.5 turns out
14/49 gearing
Pirelli scorpion mx soft 410 paddle in the back
Red spring, 2 turns in.
Slide 4

The 480/45 jets with needle is a setting from a fast rider here, who trained alot @ this track with his sx250.
Bike just goes through his legs, no power and takes some time to build up speed.
Checked working of powervalve on stand in pits and is moving freely when revving the bike.
Only 2nd ride since complete rebuild, everything is good.
Did buy this bike second hand and once home i discoverd bike was not maintained at all, do not trust seller. Got me thinking if this is correct cdi? Ktm sticker is gone with type number, but this is on the back...

All reviews say this bike is powerful down low, i would like to find that power Silly

Hello i bought a 19 sx250 few months ago and it should be basicly the same motor, i had it completely stock when bought and rode it once. All power is bottom mid with stock everything and 14/50 which is stock too. Bike died a little on top so bought a hgs complete system and getting vhm head soon.

I don’t know anything about jetting, ton v grinsven is going to do that, but maybe short story, try 1 tooth higher on rear?

Try this first before Keihin/Lectron swap (not telling you not to , but this is a low cost and proven setup)

First ride after rebuild was with 52 sprocket, then it had the same problem. Not this intense...
Changed gearing after, was to short...
So something else is off...

I have these parts to try, but bike has to run better with stock setup also...
Will try for sure once i get everything sorted out.
On my te300 2017 i was way to lean, even for road use...

Do you have raised the port timing when you clean the ports? Maybe this is the light in the pic with the exhaust port but the middel transfer port look really big? On my old ktm sx 250 17 I could ride 3 gear in all corner with one touch on clutch or 2 gear without clutch.

Good observation on that.
Port timing, angles or port surface is not altered by me or by previous owner.
I just cleaned up the inlets and exhaust...
However the light you see in the pic is a chip of nicasil missing, normally related to grinding near edges of ports. This is not the case and i am clueless why this chipped off.
It was this way when i bought the bike, like many other things not good...
So i opted to clean this up in such a way the rings will not catch it...
New nicasil will be done in the future and then that spot will be gone also.
Yes dealer says this also they have a bunch of low end and this is not normal...

Did some testing today.
Changing cdi made no difference, went back home to try some carb settings.
Although i was a bit sceptic about the settings mentioned in the KTM HUS 125 150 250 jetting thread, i had the parts already on the shelf ready to try out. On my te300 it was way to lean, but on my tc250 they proved to be good!
#5 slide, 5.5 i did not found over here. S4 needle jet, 42-75 needle on 3rd clip, 480main, 45 pilot, AS 1.3 turns out.
When i return the cdi to the shop i will buy 500main jet to try, some track riding needed to determine main and pilot jet sizes.
Happy i made some progress with the bike Laughing

KEIHIN CARB PWK38

6.0 SLIDE
NECJ NEEDLE MIDDLE POSITION
180 MAIN
42 PILOT-V-FORCE 40 PILOT -STOCK REEDS
2 TURNS OUT

Stop screwin' around with jetting that shitty mikuni.

I have a 19 tc250 same motor and it made it run 500 times better!

I Think ecomaxx is running the Stock carb so there must be a good setting😁

As the bike was still not running like it should, it was time to put it on the bench...

Last time out it still lacked power down low, visible in the graph.
Responsible for this was powervalve setting, not only the adjuster screw...
In midrange it also was on the lean side, 480 main is a bit to rich but ok. Pilot did not change.
What he changed was needle to JD red, and back to stock slide.

So now,
480main
35pilot
JD red needle
S4 needle jet
#4 slide

Graph shows nice improvement between 4000 & 6000 rpm, also little gain on top...
Maybe if weather stays ok track will be open this weekend to feel the difference.Smile

Did ride yesterday, but it was a tough one.
We received alot of rain this month and storm was passing over with strong winds and drizziling rain.
Track conditions were harsh but bike performed flawless, no need to use the clutch anymore Smile
Same sandtrack as previous ride, so ideal comparison.
Now hoping for better weather...

They changed the number of turns for the powervalve setting.
Apperently the Z dimension/rod length is off, that is why i was chasing my tail. When rebuilding the engine I marked the position and put it back togheter the same way, next overhaul i will make this to factory spec.
Now he compensated with a "not normal" powervalve setting.

Hey jeffoff. Just wondering if this still is your carb setup. I live in the south of the Netherlands and only ride on the famous/infamous (depending who you ask) sand tracks over here. Currently have the stock exhaust on it but considering to go for an aftermarket (HGS). Bike is a 2018 KTM SX250.

There is a little tool you're looking for to set the powervalve, nihilo makes them. US company. Then you can get the linkage dialed.

I have one of these built like this. (Terry Varner motor and PWK carb with billet metering block) In the realm of 250 twostrokes, these lack on the front side of the curve where the crank has to use inertia to get the third shaft spinning. Then they pick up and take off and have a bit of mechanical over rev because of the third shaft.

Softest powervalve spring you can get is the best. Opens it up earlier and might take some of that dip out of the front side.

This is the first turn at Budds Creek, short deep first straight...you can see 450s really trying to stay in the camera frame just 150ft out of the gate. God bless em for their effort. Has to be difficult with so much latency between combustion events, those poor things.
