ar15 Started a new thread Brembo Racing Master Cylinder
5/29/2026 6:11am Anyone has experience, or an opinion oubout the Brembo Racing Master cylinder XA2B3A0? It's presented as an replacement/upgraded master cylinder for the standard Brembo master cylinder of our 2018 KTM SX250. I believe however that the only difference is the fact that it's milled from a piece of aluminum, rather than casted. I wonder therefor whether it's worthwhile spending the...

ar15 Added a reply to KTM Factory/SXS Front Caliper. Two versions?
11/16/2025 2:47am I've bought the KTM factory caliper (SXS09125512) with 24mm pistons, had no opportunity yet to try it with the stock (9 mm) master cylinder. I noticed by the way that apparently on the KTX SXF450 factory edition bike a "24mm" caliper is paired with a 10mm master Brembo PS 10/16 master cylinder: https://www.brembo.com/en/solutions/for-original-equipement-bike/refere…

ar15 Added a reply to KTM Factory/SXS Front Caliper. Two versions?
11/2/2025 12:26pm Thanks cwtoyota. I'm a bit sceptical towards all of the claims made by KTM about the Factory caliper. Unless the shape of the caliper is different I can't imagine why going from casting to milling would give a big improvement. The material is still aluminum; the elasticity of aluminum barely varies between the different alloys. They look nice though. BTW...
ar15 Added a reply to KTM Factory/SXS Front Caliper. Two versions?
11/2/2025 6:23am That makes sense. I went through the KTM parts lists and found: Diam. master piston Diam. caliper pistons up to MY2008 11mm 28mm 2008 10mm 28mm 2009 and later 9mm 24mm Having a MY2018 bike, it's maybe better not to mess things up and stay with 24mm caliper pistons. For more braking power, without affecting the "feel"of the lever I...
ar15 Started a new thread KTM Factory/SXS Front Caliper. Two versions?
11/1/2025 6:39am Everyone, I'm considering to upgrade the front brake of our 2018 SX250 KTM by replacing the original caliper by a Factory/SXS version. I've read some (moderate) positive feedback about them. It looks however that there are 2 versions: - KTM part SXS09125512 (pistons 24 mm in diameter, like the standard caliper) - Brembo part XQ21361 (pistons 28 mm in diameter...

ar15 Started a new thread Upgrade of rear brake caliper of our KTM SX250 (worth it?)
4/24/2025 9:09am I'm thinking about upgrading our rear brake caliper and I see two options at the moment: 1. A KTM Factory Racing Brembo brake caliper (quite expensive; about 950 Euro here in Europe) 2. A MotoMaster MXC Caliper (quite a new product from MotoMaster; about 500 Euros) Some claims are made by both sides but I feel it can be (to...

1/29/2023 10:49am FYI: I use this jetting table. I put it together using all the info that I found on this topic and some riding over the last year.
ar15 Started a new thread 2018 KTM SX250 PV opening rpm
8/2/2022 10:25pm I found a discrepency between the Repair Manual and the User Manual of our 2018 KTM SX250. For the "Exhaust valve, beginning of adjustment" the User Manual says 5125 rpm, while the repair manual says 5500 rpm. Which one is correct?

ar15 Added a reply to 2018 KTM SX250 PV opening rpm
8/2/2022 10:01am What what should the factory setting for a 2018 KTM SX250 be? The Owners Manual gives a different number than the Repair Manual. See pics. Owners Manual: 5125 rpm Repair Manual: 5500 rpm Quite confusing...
ar15 Added a reply to 2018 KTM SX250 PV opening rpm
8/1/2022 12:40am I just want to check/adjust the preload acc. to factory default setting. BTW, the rpm at which the PV opens is not dependent on what auxiliary spring (red/yellow/green) is used.
ar15 Added a reply to Read my piston - YZ125
7/13/2022 12:55pm Your piston is the result of 30 hours of riding, not just from the last time. When you have replaced the piston, clean the carb, put in a new spark plug and try to do a plug chop test to see if you're running lean or rich. BTW, when we were riding 125 we replaced the piston after 20 hours...

7/13/2022 12:27pm I have no experience with leaded fuel, but I would not expect it to give a deposit like this. It looks like carbon (= burned oil). If it were a deposit from the lead, I would expect it to have a different color. What type of tracks do you ride? If you ride (deep) sand tracks you will require a...
ar15 Added a reply to Read my piston - YZ125
7/13/2022 11:17am It's running (much) too lean. The effect of a lean mixture is that the temperature during the combustion will be higher than normal, and as a results also the top of the piston will get hotter. Due to the high temperature the oil in the fuel/air mixture will burn and deposit as carbon to the top, and also the bottom...
ar15 Added a reply to Neken SFS Bar height compared to stock?
7/9/2022 1:50pm Thank you Rider 5280. Does the SFS also help against arm pump? Any personal experience?

7/8/2022 2:14pm First rode with clean filter and twin air cage, then tried the intake with dirty filter and twin air cage, bike was stronger in all rpms and kept pulling, with dirty filter it was way better then clean filter and no intake. So you compared: - twin air cage with clean filter? - twin air cage with carbon insert and...
ar15 Started a new thread Neken SFS Bar height compared to stock?
7/8/2022 1:59pm Does anyone know if the bar height with a SFS triple clamp is different from the OEM triple clamp? In my case it's for a 2018 KTM SX250 that -I heard- came already with a (regular) Neken triple clamp. In case the height is different, by how much? When I look at the pictures of a SFS clamp, it looks...

ar15 Added a reply to KTM SX250 is eating gears (at increasing rate)
11/11/2021 11:51pm Unfortunately it's been raining a lot over the last few weeks and many tracks were closed because of that. Hopefully this weekend we can give it another try.
ar15 Started a new thread KTM SX250 is eating gears (at increasing rate)
11/11/2021 6:51pm I encounter some serious transmission problems with my sons’ 2018 KTM SX250 lately. I had to replace a number of gears a number of time, and the worst thing is: It’s happening more often as time goes by. I have thought about potential causes and would like to share them with you. I’m curious what your thoughts are on this...
