In fact all their gear looks pretty good even if you don’t wear a neck brace.

Buckles look the same as the tech 7. The bottom buckle is reversed on the a star.
The Leatt looks to be a little more aggressive with the inboard side of the boot for bike grip.

Couple of things:
1) The Leatts are shorter than the Fox Comp 8. I'm short, too- 5' 5"- and the Comp's come almost over my calf. Plus, the actual hard part of the boot goes all the way to the top. The Leatts have a softer top and stop about 3" shy of my knee. I kind of like that.
2) The Comp 8's weigh 4 lbs 14 oz on my postal scale. The Leatts are 4 lbs 4 oz. That's 20 oz of weight for the pair.
3) The soles feel MUCH harder than the Fox.
4) I love the buckles. I ride off-road a lot and I've never liked the flipped buckle on A-stars.
5) the 1 way velcro is cool. You push the flap down, push it up, and it stays. It doesn't grab while you're trying to place it.
6) My Leatt Z-frame braces fit just fine.
7) the protection feels better than a Tech 7. More plastic and an actual hinge.
I'm keeping them.
Pit Row
Did my heel in a few weeks back after ejecting the stubbing it a few times trail riding, was still very sore and planted it solid last weekend in the new Leatt and it soaked it up beautifully.
The feel the comfort the design and finish of these are awesome.
That’s just my 2 cents
