Stripped lower shock nut insert

Even though I use a torque wrench I think KTMs torque specs are a bit high. I stripped the threaded collar that goes in the bottom of the shock that is the nut for the lower shock bolt. I tried backing the bolt off then giving it a few good whacks but it didn’t look like it budged.

Anyone had to replace theirs and how did they get it out?

I had WP in SoCal replace one for me, but now they don't do retail anymore.

Are the threads stripped or is the insert spinning?
I put a heli-coil on another (if threads are stripped).

You can call factory connection and see if they can replace it or sell you the insert if you can press it out/in yourself.

The threads are stripped, I already got a replacement from factory connection.

Just wondering the best way to get the old one out. I backed the bolt out a half inch then gave it a few good hits with a hammer on a socket and extension.... didn’t budge.

May need to get the drill out or fire up a Dremel with a carbide bit and " take it apart " in sections.

Pull the shock and linkage off so you can work on it on the bench. Cut the head of the bolt off , support the assembly in a press, and push it out.

I know this thread is old but how did you get this fixed? I just ran into the same issue. Apparently these trax shocks are known for it.

I actually haven’t yet. I just put a lock nut on the end of the bolt for right now. I’m going to take it off and give it to my suspension guy when I have a chance.
