So boys back for more help,
My 1500 work truck took a shit this weekend.
I am looking at a 2005 Ford F-250 with the 6.0
The truck is clean as hell has no blow by shifts on the dime, but it has ent been deleted or studded.
I does have a cold air intake and some one off exhaust pipe where I can’t find anywhere.
It has 144k on it
I’ll post some pictures soon

The guy wants 11500
We talked a little and he said 10500 but come back with a solid cash offer and let me know, I am thinking maybe 9500 it needs tires as well

Nice clean looking truck but I would not touch one with that engine with a ten foot pole.

It sounded like you are already aware of the issues with this engine when you mentioned it’s not deleted or studded. What would you like me to elaborate on?

Well that’s an easy fix, and some don’t even need it.

I didnt know if you know something I didn’t

I guess easy fix is relative, it’s not easy in my book. It’s definitely something that should be addressed on that engine though before the usual shit happens and if you’re going in with that budgeted already then fair game. Those trucks are a real bitch to work on.

I owned one for a week lol. Was all original well kept, rich old man owned king ranch edition, all stock not even an exhaust, checked it over well. No leaks. No issues. 2 days after buying it. Puddle of coolant underneath it. $2 O ring let go to egr cooler. 12hrs of miserable ass labor later to get to the god damn o ring was fixed back up.

Id never own another. It lived up to its repuation.

The fix is probably east but also fuckin expensive. Just sold my 6.0 last month. I’d never buy another no matter how clean. Its not a matter of if but when with those pieces of shits. Just do a quick google search.

Id say the part where he said, "I’d never buy another no matter how clean. " was him letting you in on a secret.

X2. Buddies stepdad bought one, took a shit on him shortly after. Dropped another 7k for a rebuilt engine from reputable local diesel shop. Now he’s got like 2x into the truck from what it was purchased for.

There is a reason the Ford 6.4/6.0 engine trucks sell cheap compared to the same year Cummins/Duramax.

Honestly if you want a cheap Ford look for a higher mile 13+ 6.7. I’ve seen a few locally on Craigslist with 250k plus miles for under 15k

I paid 6k for a 2000 cummins 3500 . Srw swapped 6 speed nv5600 . Big turbo and injectors , it has its qwerks having 330k miles , and a little bit of blow by . If your looking for a diesel that's reliable stick to 7.3's with less then 250k . 5.9 cummins less then 300k . But they all have their weaknesses . But any of those trucks that have made it that long have been taken care of . Keep in mind engine replacement intervals are vastly overrated by everyone's favorite hillbilly. The medium duty diesel market speaking on 5.9 and 7.3s were designed to about 350k replacement /overhaul . Some make it more some make it less . Depends on matience and driving habits .

Stay away from anything with the following .

Exhaust stack , dumb massive exhaust tips , tuners , and massive lift and tires .

Goodluck , oh and by the way I'm a cummins guy true and true.
